Would you play against these models as counts-as jetbikes, assuming they were based properly?
Yes, I would
I would in friendly games, but not competitive ones.

For Eldar jetbikes, I was thinking of going with an Exodite theme.

Would the mounted cavalry from the wood elf line work, you think?

Spoiler:

I'd probably sling some kind of rifles or other ranged weapon over their back so that people aren't surprised by ranged attacks, but would you find this to be an acceptable substitution?

Sure thing. Wood elves are perfect for exodites.

As for guns maybe modify the spears to have a gun in them... if thats how to explain it well. Then it would look a bit more natural.

Absolutely, as long as you get them on the right bases and take into account assembling the model to get as close to lines of sight on the actual model, then I'd have absolutely no problem with it. They're awesome models and I'd love to see them across from me on the tabletop amidst a force of Eldar.

I'd be fine with it, but it'd be really nice to see some conversion as opposed to straight-up counts-as. I really do love those stag helmets, though. I'm considering grabbing some for my own Eldar that I plan to have eventually.

Give them guns and remember to the jetbike bases. Then you have flying reindeer!

This. Wood Elves are fine, but it won't raise any eyebrows.

Personally I'm more interested in cool models than making sure they match Jetbike profiles and putting them on jetbike bases.

Thats all that should matter.

On moon miranda.

I certainly wouldn't refuse a game against them, but they don't really make great stand-ins for heavily armored flying missile-bikes with razor-blade machine guns. At least to me. They look like something that wants to get stuck into combat and stab it to death, and also something that lasguns would be very effective against, something much lighter and stabbier.

No problem. Just make sure the cannon and any officer models are easy to distinguish and your exodites/maiden world guardians are good to go.

To be honest i dont like the models, having said that, based appropietly, they are roughly the same same size, so if you like the models go for it.

I wouldn't refuse to play against it, but I gotta say I don't really like the idea simply because it doesn't at all reflect the fact that a jetbike flies. Now if you were to modify them with something such as the Pegasus Wings I found on GW's site, I'd love them. I also think giving them twin-linked shuriken catapults (or something very close that nevertheless looks shootier than a regular shuriken catapult) is important.

This. Or just giving them a spiritual /ghostly trail of some sort to give the impression that they are an ethereal steed capable of Jetbike like steeds. But with an Eldar paint scheme and some bits added, done well I'm sure I wouldn't even bat an eye. You could probably just tell me its an official alternative model and I'd still believe you.

Can't stress how important I think it is that you make it ethereal or flying though. Otherwise it makes no sense conceptually at all.

P.S.A. I won't read your posts if you break it into a million separate quotes and make an eyesore of it.

Remember rough riders can move 12 inches. Just pretend your steeds are far faster and more agile than a mere horse.

Strap jets onto their flanks. That would be both amusing and get the "JETbike" point across

If you had the right weaponry, and ideally the right base, if not a flying stand, I'd be fine with this. Might need to be reminded about them, though

They sure look it. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by adding a spiritual trail, shuppet. I can't even really think of a good way to go about that...

Just put shuriken catapults on their backs and give one a big nasty sniper rifle. Elvish horses moving like jetbikes works just fine for me. Truthfully, I might copy the idea myself.

I know that there are a butt-load of spare splinter rifles in sheaths in the Dark Eldar sprues.

Are there Shuriken Catapults that aren't attached to hands available for the Dark Eldar?

I have no idea how you would go about it either. But the effect i meant was something similar to this (on a smaller scale):

Might be easier sticking with the Pegasus wings, although I think achieving this one would look way cooler even if it did take a little extra effort

I kinda think cold ones make better stand in's for exodite cavalry....but whatever seems cool to me. Bonus points if you make an exodite avatar from the treeman kit

Played against a guy using techmarines with Lego guys as servitors, I thought it funny as it reminds me of Serv-Bot from MvC 2

While both are a good idea, the goal of the endeavor was primarily to save money over the standard Eldar jetbikes. 'Exodite forces' offer me a convenient way to justify them fluff-wise. The pegasus wings are just a little too costly for me.

Still, I may try some kind of spectral paint scheme on the mounts.

Well, the GW price is really steep but I bet you could find appropriately sized wings from a third party for cheaper. Another possibility that occurred to me is that you could mount them on flying bases, and whichever hooves are supposed to be on the ground you could put a small disc under it. If you used a clear material and/or painted it for a spectral effect, it could look like they're galloping across thin air, making it solid enough to support them.

Spectral paint scheme would do it for me. Like, as your opponent I'd be cool with it either way, with a spectral paint scheme you would get Two thumbs up from me and I'd tell you how cool it was. (4 thumbs is for actually modelling wings and a trail on lol)
