So I know in 6th and previous editions they clearly spelled out that only Infantry or Jump/Jetpack units could go into the upper levels of ruins but I was looking through today while watching a friend use his DA Black Knights and couldn't find anything to say that they cannot go into the upper levels. Was this just an oversight by me, if so please give me the page number, or are Bikes now allowed to go up levels in ruins?

Ruins are now plain difficult terrain, that's it. (page 108)

That's what it looked like to me, just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Yeah, there is a general rule about having to fit into the terrain that you are trying to place your model on and that's it.

This was my game being discussed. We didn't allow it at the time. Seems bikes got even more awesome.

Also, clearly they don't drive up walls. They just take their bikes off some sweet jumps. I should model that...

"I have seen war in all its forms. I have seen feral world savages braining each other with stones and I have monitored the death of a whole planet at the hands of a virus bomb. I have seen Space Marines drop to certain death and win. I have seen Titans crush whole platoons underfoot.

But there is no more stirring sight in war than the charge of massed cavalry."

Vanished Completely

Whembly,
Now now... the bikes don't' drive up the side of the wall as that would be silly.
They levitate through the thin air like every other Model!

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

I always imagine the hand of the Emperor picking them up and placing them on the upper level..

I'd rather go with the "use rubble as ramps" for sweet tricks and back-flips and other that put the levitating Eldar bikes to shame

Didn't Allow it? It just never came to the point where they could have gone up the ruins, I killed you with Hellfire before you could get into them Although that's only because you didn't make the charge distance.... (Thank the Inquisition!)

It seems that the removal of the ruins rule section changed many things! There's another thread about blast marker hitting everything below in the ruins, even though not visible.

But as for bike going up ruins, anybody watched Final Fantasy Advent Children? That's what you call a skilled rider.

Yeah the removal of the ruins rules was a poor decision. It has caused lots of stupidity. The terrain rules were poorly written in 6th and 7th was an opportunity to tighten them up, they went the other way.

I mean you can just walk Horizontally off the top of a ruin now and claim wobbly model to keep it hovering there. Just all round dumb. Heck even Landraiders can drive up walls now.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

If you can safely fit your land raider on the ruins, then yeah, but somehow i doubt that... =P

If you do, please upload a pic!

Given the modularity of the Citadel ruins, it's easy to build something where a Land Raider would fit on the ruin.
