That is a rather brioad question. Perhaps you could specify what you were planning?

Also situations like tournament conditions, casual games with friends, competitive games with random strangers etc would be helpful to determine as there are many thing under the category.

No. Provided it is easily identifiable as what you intend it to be there shpuldnt be ab issue. Also if there are multiple say for instance you are converting AM troopers in tau armour to be carapace this would nees to be consistant in the rest of your army.

That isn't anything anyone should have an issue with, provided the turret is roughly the same size as the normal one.

You mean the Rhino I suppose? Well, if the weapon is approximately the same as erick99 mentioned, it should be ok.

Also, some opponents may be fussy about how much pivoting the guns have (if you put a weapon which is not of the original), so I guess it would depend on your opponent. If among friends it should not be an issue. I have never gone for a tournament but I believe counts-as models may have to clear the TO.

In fact if you still have the parts from your rhino model, the top hatch portion with the big ring is the Razorback roof. The turret could be purchased from gw via this sprue: http://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Space-Marine-Landraider-Terminus-Ultra-Conversion-Kit

This gives you both the Lascannon and Heavy Bolter options, and sponson options for a future Predator conversion.

If you wanted an Assaultcannon you can get a Land raider crusader upgrade pack for just under $20 usd or you could just make the gatling barrels and stick them on the heavy bolters.

As Kommissar Kel said, a Razorback is literally the same model as the Rhino. I wouldn't even call this a "real" conversion as the only difference is the top hatch.

In fact the razorback kit comes with all of the parts to build a rhino, but it gets an additional sprue for the top gun.

These sprues come with the rhino, Notice how the bottom left corner of the bottom Pic has the top cover plate with a hole in it included, this is not for the Rhino but it is still there.
