I'm starting up my emperors children army and a couple of things I got from my current 40k army is bringing 1 drop pod loaded with my pysker
Problem with pre heresy is I cant find anyone who can take a drop pod without the rites of war: orbital assault, reason i don't use that is because the limitation, meaning i can't bring the pre heresy Medusa's that i planned to link with the vox's on all my tactical squads,

So I'm wondering if there are any good assultyish units that are less than 10 man, and can take a dedicated transport.
if you know of a drop pod that isn't dedicated that would also be amazing, but I haven't been able to find anything in the 3 books so far.

plan is drop pod with pysker centurion and LORD COMMANDER of the EMPEROR'S CHILDREN, bust out use the psychic screech then assault with a buff from biomancy and there squad

DOESN'T"T HAVE TO BE AN ASSAULT SQUAD.

I'm afraid if you want to use Drop Pods you will need to take the Orbital Assault Rite of War.
I don't believe the Palantine Blades or the Kakaphoni can take a Drop Pods as a DT without it. (And the generic Legion units are similarly restricted)

Saying that, the Horus Heresy game is build on the base Warhammer 40k rules so unless there is a restriction I'm missing in the books you should be able to use the 7th Edition Battleforged list using multiple Age of Darkness detachments.
That way your primary detachment can take a Praetor/Master of the Legion with Orbital Assault and another detachment for your Medusas and Tacticals.

I would however send of an email to Forgeworld at forgeworld@gwplc.com and ask if this is kosher as generally speaking FW are pretty good at addressing rules issues.

By the 37 keys of Tzeentch,We open the way for our brothers,
By the 1000 whispers of Slaanesh we call to them,
By the 12 plagues of Nurgle we fell their enemies,
And by the mighty axe of Khorne we cut open the world for them!

Book 3 ---- Legion Dreadclaw Drop pod ---- Fast attack choice, same rules as a regular pod (with some extra rules ofc) not a DT but takes up a FA slot, should work for what you want it to do...

Are you playing a fluffy army though ? i only say that because the EC didnt have any psykers pre or during heresy because they were considered genetically imperfect...

thank you two, both are great options and I'll have to test them out.
also my psyker i plan to be painted iron hands because his a "allie" and there is no rule saying no pyskers allowed.

He is referring to fluff not rules and is indeed correct, the emps children had no "official" psykers as there not "pure" enough.

Rules wise nowt stopping you

Yep, Dreadclaw or Kharybdid are your options outside of the Orbital Assault Rite of War.
As far as the fluffy psyker bit goes, well, nothing stopping you from taking a Navigator, though.
