Hello, my name is Ironmonger, and I'm an amateur engineer, architect, artist, guitarist and author. Currently, the only wargame that I have interest in is Warhammer 40k, but that may soon change. What originally drew me into 40k was Dawn of War: Dark Crusade for the PC, which I played a lot, and then I happened to notice in the back of the manual that it was actually based on a tabletop game. I started reading into the lore, and watching battle reports, and soon I was just hooked. To me, little compares to the grandiose and insane nature of the 40k universe. So far, my favorite armies are Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, and Orks. In closing, I'm glad to see that this forum is so welcoming to newcomers, and I hope to make some sort of contribution to the 40k community.

So are you a terrain builder being an engineer?

Dawn of War is pretty cool! I perfer the earlier version vs the smaller squad based deal, but still ejoyed it all too! I should get a gaming computer again, get those loaded up to play.

I'm a BA player myself, like Orks and such. Although I had a deal going for about 9 years where I collected Tau, Necrons, Orks, DA, actually bought an Eldar Army and it got traded out soon after the purchase. Now days theres not much time for all that, so I've narrowed it down and work on my models every week.

Do you have the 7th ed rules yet? My hard copy is on it's way for Father's Day, have electronic but I have a hard time with ebooks... just not the same.

Anyway, I'm rattling away on your welcome post!

Don't worry about rattling away; I love talking to people.

Anyway, I hope to work on terrain at some point, as well as custom models, and I intend to revamp some codices.

Competitively I lean towards Vanilla Marines, but fun-wise I lean more towards Chaos Space Marines and Orks.

I don't have the 7th ed rules yet, and I don't even have a codex. My knowledge of the game and the universe comes from a lot of persistent internet research and word-of-mouth from other wargamers. However, I hope to get a codex and the rules soon.

Also, I want to thank you all for the warm welcomes. I look forward to interacting with the people here.
