Hello everyone!

I am not only new to Dakka but to Warhammer 40K as well. I apologize in advance for my grammar, I have always had trouble with it and no amount of courses, self-help books, or tutors have ever been able to seem to lick it. I was directed here by the Facebook group for my town (Toronto) and decided to give it a shot.

While I have been gaming for many years (videos, cards, board, and even other mini lines) I am just entering the really complex world of 40K for the first time and to be honest I am kind of intimidated by the whole thing. Not just the game, I learn by doing, so if I play enough games I will memorize the rules in no time but the culture.
When I was a kid my wrists were wrecked to the point where I get the shakes at times which makes actions like painting take a long time, and no matter how many tricks I use my miniatures will never look all that amazing. The last time I tried to get into 40K I was basically shunned and mocked at a Games Workshop location to the point where I quit not only are my paint jobs not amazing but sometimes I choose colour schemes that are not from the approved lists!
I never chose obscene or clashing colours; they just weren't from the approved list of GW colour sets for the faction so I was informed that I couldn't use my minis in the GW store even for casual play. Though I have found a different GW store to shop in since which has been pretty amazing the memory of my previous attempt still haunt me.

The army I will be trying to use this time are the Daemons of Chaos. Go Team Tzeentch!

Not sure what else to add; feel free to ask questions if there is anything I have missed!

Sounds like the first store was run by donkey-caves.

I know a guy who has nerve damage in his arm and so he uses commissioned painters. Its defiantly an option.

Anyway, welcome to that most wretched hive of scum and villainy known to some as dakkadakka.com.

How much does that run on average? Commissioning a painter like that?

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
