I have a question about how Zoanthropes broods work in 7th ed...If I have 3 thropes in a brood, how many extra psychic powers can I roll up for them?
My mate and I decided that they are a brotherhood with a psyker level of 2 as per codex and rolled up one extra power. It seems fair to me, but I'd just like to check in and see if we played it wrong.

You did it correctly. They start with warp lance and you get to generate 1 additional power for the entire brood. Then, since you only rolled on a single table, they also get Dominion for free.

You maximise your powers/warp charge if you have 3 separate units, each with 1 Zoanthrope. You maximise the survivability of your caster if you have 1 unit with 3 Zoanthropes.

Word, I usually run Zoeys two to a Brood, to maximise durability, while controlling cost.

My "standard" Elites buy is; Zoey Brood: x2, Zoey Brood: solo, Veno Brood (Usually doubled for survivability)

But multiple solo Zoeys maximises Rolls on Powers of the Hive Mind!

The will of the hive is always the same: HUNGER

Thanks for the clarification fellers.
I think 2 Zoans per brood sounds like the sweet spot to me. Only 1 and they're first blood bait and with 3 50 points too much that could go to another venomthrope.

Personally, I just go three solo Zoeys. I know it's first blood fodder, but I've come to accept that.
