Subject: The Lord Inquisitor: New "Grey Knights" Trailer
This continues to be the worst tease EVER! Absolutely stunning trailer just like the first. Cannot wait for this to be released. As a 40k fan seeing an astartes brought to life in this is awesome. I think you really captured the giganticism and power of the astartes without really showing too much.

I suppose short stories are pointless compared to novels, eh? Anton Chekhov was just spinning his wheels?
As others have said this trailer looks amazing. This is the first I have heard of this project, but I am very interested in seeing things develop. Kudos to everyone involved, the trailer is absolutely gorgeous and nails the atmosphere of 40k. Those servitors...

Each to his own and all that, I find short stories are pretty pointless yes, hence my remark, I am not a fan of Chekhov either.
It looks like they nailed the atmosphere and everything, I never went for short stories is all and I was pretty gutted to hear they had dropped it to a 15 minutes.

Fair enough, different strokes and all that.
Telling a coherent story in a shorter span of time is often more difficult than spinning a longer narrative, and those who are good at one form of story telling might not be good at the other. Hopefully the truncated run time won't have an effect on the quality of the finalized storyline.

I hope you had a nice christmas and a cool beginning for this year You all know the project is currently on “hold” and so I had a lot of time to think about Lordi from time to time and develop new ideas and things like that Of course I also already thought that Lordi is doomed because of the rules of Games Workshop, but it seems that the wheel has changed
Shortly before Christmas I finally got an answer and it was more than positive To be honest I think I had the biggest smile in my face in the year 2011 I will not post any mails in my blog as this is a private conversation between GW and me, but what I can tell you is that GW loves Lordi and everything what me and my team created. So GW really wants to see this project finished and they want me to have a kind of license that allows me to make non commercial Warhammer 40.000 movies. I mean, how cool is that? I never thought that GW would be so cool to this project and this is beyond my expectations – now I don’t have to hide anymore with this project, but can look in a proper future for Lordi.
However GW told me that this is a promise for now only and they can not guarantee me that this really becomes true. They have to see for themselfes if that is possible legally with their IP. But they want to get this through and Im optimisitc that this will work So we still need to cross our fingers, but it looks really really good for The Lord Inquisitor
So not a ton of worries about GWde-railing it if they haven't done so in over 2 years now...

Reading that back, I do sound overly harsh on it, that was not my intention, what there is looks awesome, thats for sure.

I would caution that even the Ultramarines previews didn't look bad either so let's not judge a book by its cover. I agree though that this trailer and the last looked quite nice.

I love how these guys are doing this totally of their own power and time and their trailers look better than the entirety of the Space Marine movie that GW paid for.
Man, you guys do great work. Really cool stuff, can't wait for more!

It looks good, certainly a million times better than that official attempt.
A few things bothered me though..
- Some of the sounds are really out of place sounding, like the vase shattering and the gunshot, they sound like poor quality stock audio
- The copy-pasting of the same model Guardsmen and Space Marines at the parade is quite obvious, especially when the all have the same limited animation going on, which even when not in sync really stands out
- Some of the characters do a lot of gesturing and moving about to convey something, they look awfully busy
That said, really looking forward to the full thing.
It's an interesting take on Terra, perhaps a bit too clean and sleek looking, but an interesting take nonetheless.

Watched it twice, shared about an hour ago with some groups. Fun things is reading Praetorian of Dorn, scene on Terra, look up at movie screen with M41 Holy Terra...just a beautiful combo. Love how they captured the feel of 40K.

That was amazing, I'd love to see what they could do with proper funding. I really liked that it didn't shy away from the darkness, strangeness and brutality of the Imperium, as well as having main characters that were not square jawed action hero's(with British accents as well ). All things I think mainstream movie types would have issues with.

Indeed, a most impressive spectacle. Some other elements show their true origins as a fan-project, but I think that's just because the visuals are really that great. Far better than many studios produce.
While it's completely in pipe dream territory, it would be fantastic if GW found a way to get the money to fund this as a proper film. A whole host of reasons that will never happen, but still, so much they've had to battle through as just a passion project that it'd be interesting to see if they could get better commitments and thus progress with funding.

Very impressive. Marcus seems like a really interesting character and I'm very curious where the plot will go. Apparently the lip syncing problem is due to the original language being in German. I kind of wish we could have gotten the German version with English subtitles. The German language works really well for 40k, I think.
