So I am thinking of putting together a Corsair style Eldar/Dark Eldar style army. Just for look as much as anything else. Will probably make the Eldar a bit darker than usual, but get rid of the grislier, bone-in-the-hair stylings of the Dark Brethren. Trying to make the army something that I can bring to tournaments too. Flexible, fast and set up for grabbing as many tact objectives as possible... Lots of disposable units! Here is what I am thinking:

It's not the most exciting list ever (mini seer council, the baron, wave serpents, w knight). I could probably make it better, and hit the theme better, if I got rid of the wraithknight, but I've already got the model! And I love it, so will make it fit.

Farseer on a Jetbike (singing spear, stone of Anath Lan)
Farseer on a Jetbike

Warlock council - 5 x Warlocks all on jetbikes, all with Singing Spears

5 x Dire Avengers (wave serpent with holo fields, scatter laser, Shuriken cannon)
5 x Dire Avengers (wave serpent with holo fields, scatter laser, Shuriken cannon)
3 x Windrider Jetbike
3 x Windrider Jetbike
3 x Windrider Jetbike

6 x Swooping Hawks
5 x Warp Spiders

Wraithknight (Heavy Wraithcannons)

Baron Sathonyx

5 x Kavalite Warriors (Raider)
5 x Kabalite Warriors (Raider)

I know most people prefer venoms, but I think the lances could be useful and I really like the models (not mad on venoms).

Your council needs to be fearless. One bad roll and it runs off the board. Give a farseer the Shard of Anaris and drop a unit of jetbikes. Alternatively, you could Drop either the warp spiders or the hawks for a Shard of Anaris + 6th Warlock.

Get rid of the hawks as per above posters suggestions.

I would have thought that hawks could work quite well in 7th (no scatter deep strike, good anti infantry, circumstantial wreckers of vehicles)?

Good thought on the Shard - having a look at fitting it in.

DE have little issue with AI.

I'm so unclear on Dark Eldar's strengths as AI, except that oroe try and take 9 Venoms... I guess the two Wave Serpents are good at this. But thought the Raiders were more good for dealing with AV targets (lances, right?).

Wouldn't call this a DE list, title of post misleading. About 20% of the army is not eldar, would not call that dark eldar.

Regardless raiders are good, they are mediocre AT. Most Dark eldar take ravagers because you get 3 lances for about 40 more points than 1 lance on a raider. after upgrades.

I would keep the raiders though as the rest of your army is not hurting for anti infantry and you could use more anti tank.

I also play a Deldar list, but with DE as the primary (also 2 WS w/ dire avengers). I tend to do pretty well with them.... Some thoughts on how to make this more effective with DE as secondary.

You're short changing yourself by not including at least one ravager (w/ night shield and flickerfield)
Ditto to that by not including a raider/venom with trueborn w/ 3-4 blasters.

These are your best bets for getting darklight weapons into DE. I've personally come around to using disintegrators on my raiders for the multiple shots against heavy infantry. One DL shot doesn't seem nearly as useful for taking out vehicles.

For troops, I tend to get much better mileage out of wracks w/ their free FNP (w/ haemonuculi HQ) or wyches with haywire grenades (for taking out vehicles).
Since I assume that you are somewhat set on taking the Baron as your HQ, wracks are not an option, but the wyches are probably better than the warrior squads. Wyches w/ haywire are only marginally more expensive, but give you some reliable vehicle killing ability with an objective secured platform.
Also, I'd recommend flickerfields on any vehicle that doesn't already come with them. This is more important in 7th because of the snap-shot/jink rules. It is 10 pts that are well worth it. I'll probably jink against something with a huge amount of shots (wave serpent, AM punisher, etc.) but against the stray lascannon or autocannon... the 5+ flickerfield is good enough.

Might also consider a squad of reaver jetbikes to replace one of the windriders. Granted, they are not objective secured, but they do have skilled rider, and their "main attack", the bladevanes, are not hindered at all by jinking. Great harassment unit that can also pick up long range objectives with good reliability.

As for venoms vs. raiders, I also would choose venoms first, though I also always include raiders. The venoms and their 12 poison shots are really too hard to pass up (at least 2-3 of them) for taking out high toughness monstrous creatures. There are very few other weapons in the game that can compete with it against these hard targets.

The Tenebrous Flow

Eldar with Dark Eldar 1850 points:

Farseer (Jetbike, Singing Spear, Spirit Stone of Anath'Lan)
Farseer (Jetbike, Singing Spear, Shard of Anaris)
Warlocks (All with: Jetbike, Singing Spear)

Windrider Jetbikes (3)
Windrider Jetbikes (3)
Dire Avengers (5)
Dire Avengers (5)
2 x Wave Serpent (Holo Fields, Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon)

Swooping Hawks (6)

Wraithknight (dual wraith cannons)

Baron Sathonyx

5 x Wyches (Haywire Grenades)
5 x Wyches (Haywire Grenades)
2 x Raiders (Both with flicker fields)

This is based on some of the advice, but wanting to maintain a "space pirate elf" feel to the army (ie - I have kept the Raiders, rather than replacing with Venoms, which probably balance better in this list... Hm.)

Anyway, I'm 7 points short of my quota, grisly trophieson one Raider?

I'd vote for chain snares on one raider. With wyches in the raiders, they're likely going to turbo boost at least one turn to get in position to use the haywire. This should give you a few free hits.
