I am playing against IG that turtles and he usually keeps a lot of space behind his aegis and guardsmen for his tanks to move around and I was thinking that it would be a great chance to deepstrike some plague bearers in and tie up his units while my stuff moves forward I am playing CSM with daemon allies the main reason for daemon allies is so I can have a bloodthirster and I was thinking about the two units of plague bearers would make the army a bound army so then all my plague marines now have super scoring I'm just looking for ideas and suggestions

Maelstrom requires you to fulfil random objectives via cards, most of which require capturing a specific objectives, if you're playing a static army, it is very difficult to score VPs.
Alternatively, Plague Drones with an icon will not only be capable of doing their own damage, but can help your precision with PBs too.

Punctuation. This needs it badly.
I agree on using tactical objectives. It will make him come out of his comfort zone and try something new hopefully.

Artillery would be the only way to bust them out... And nurgle doesn't have much of that..
The whole point of the new mealstrom rules is to stop that "can't touch this" gameplay

Typical guard...maybe doing this wouldn't necessarily tie up his units but rather provide more of an immediate threat so his target priority gets messed up...are those charge plague bearers the problem...or is your real plan a unit of CSM in a rhino...I think it depends on what you have in your list already...

Sweet baby jesus the op was one long sentence!
Anyhow, dealing with turtling IG is frustrating, but it all falls to pieces when you overwhelm the gunline with a bunch of units. The best bet is to get in close and tie up the gun lines with melee units (cheap, large units would work) and then use any heavy hitters you have for tank duty.
Turtling Guard is something I don't do anymore, given how boring it is, but I can speak from experience when I say that a decent assault list played well will eat Guard up. Mass deepstrikes maybe?

Ally IG yourself and take 1-2 Deathstrike Missiles. Ask your opponent each turn if he'd like to move his stuff out from behind his D-Line.

Sounds like a healthy application of helldrakes would break up that turtle pretty quickly.
Id still stand by the good old make 90% of the army usless by taking av14 land raiders and hope they dont have dedicated anti tank near by.

Yeah the plague bearers are to tie up the guard/ make them turn their backs to my rhinos with CSM. Would havocs with middle launchers be good also so they can use their frag missiles?

Plague drones and Soul Grinders provide an excellent answer for such a list that looks to try and maximize its ability to stay at range and keep its infantry from getting too badly mauled so I would say the greatest advantage a Nurgle army brings is such that you can still get things within a kill zone for your army (like the speed of Drones and the Pie Plates Soul Grinders bring) and even Beasts of Nurgle because if he doesn't play the Maelstrom missions, the objective then is to get up in his grill as fast as possible and sending out deep strikers and large templates would be an effective counter to his turtling.

GUO with biomancy. T 10 is pretty hard to wound and given that guard are only St 3 shooters the troops shooting shouldnt really be much of a factor.
PB can now throw defensive grenades. Blinded guard cant shoot that well at BS 1
There are lots of nurgle spells that really hurt especially against low T troops. You could really work some havoc with the Last Memory of Yurinathos (sp).
Lots of stuff here to try. Dont give in to the gun line.

Like others have said, 7th edition. The missions in 7th edition are more balanced and dynamic.
7th edition book lists 12 missions, you pick before the game which to set to play with the first set is the 6 you already know, the other 6 use tactical objectives (look on youtube fore 'maelstrom of war' and I'm sure you will get the idea.

Hmm I played a game yesterday against the turtle and won actually and the only reason I won was because of my bloodthirster, I had 2 rhinos with CSM in them and a HellBrute with a twin linked lascannon and missle launcher (diddnt kill anything) missed every time and a termie lord with termies with PF and combi plasmas and the bloodthirster and the termies were the only things that did stuff the termies took out his commissar and the bloodthirster basically siglehandidly took everything else out but a small blob of vets
