With the new objective controlled ability plus gaining benefits from Cursed Earth and having a Unmarked Chaos Sorcerer w/ Prophet of the voices with them. Is this unit worth it for objective grabbing? I mean previously they kind of sucked but now with the Cursed Earth Benefits or running them Slaanesh w/ Feel no pain. They seem to be pretty decent choice? Really Expensive though.

10 Man Unit w/ Mark of Slaanesh, Excess , 2 Gifts

Will run you 300+ easily.

Smaller squads pay more for the banners but anyone what are peoples thoughts did these guy get a better lease on ability with the Objective Secured rules?

not unplayable bad, and a good bodyguard for a sorcerer with prophet of the voices (best daemon summoner out there).

Or sometimes a 3++, really now that they Troops in a CAD, and are OS they are not a bad choice. At S5 they are going to generally hurt other troops pretty good.


Edit: I would tend to keep them a bit on the cheaper sider. you are using them as troops, not elite heavy hitters now. I would sink points in to a rhino for them and maybe a mark of nurgle for t5 or tzeentch for a 4++ but that is about it.

A rhino, 5 csm + melta + combo melta is 130 points, that is my go.to unit for scoring (i usually get dirge and dozer too). Framed in that perspective 10 footsloggers with ~3++ are going to do way less scoring and probably also way less killing.

I can see the argument for the sorc summoner in with them (for Daemon) but on balance i prefer a FMC nurgle summoner (even if he does only get 1/2 powers). I would rather have a less good caster on a safer platform (flying and 2+ cover).

if you are throwing 6-8 dice at summons your likely to peril at some point and a sorc can only perils twice!
