I'm doing a campaign with 9 other players. I get extra points for writing up a batrep, and I was reasonably proud of it.

There were several list restrictions from the campaign applied:
Spoiler:
1) The HQ selections were fixed (The Swarmlord for Tyranids, Vulkan for Salamanders, no other HQ's allowed).
2) Tyranids were forbidden from bringing Zoenthropes (because of winning previous games)
3) Only a single combined arms attachment allowed.
4) 2500 points.

The Tyranid forces:
Spoiler:
The Swarmlord
+ 3 Tyrant Guard

2 Lictors

Awesome report! The one thing I cannot remember is, do drop pods have to snap fire when they come in from DS?

Not anymore if I remember.

I make bad decisions and think they are good.

Great report! I liked the format and it was a fun read without getting boring or slow.

I probably would of brought in the Sternguard on my own board side turn 1 and used the 30" ammo. This doesn't give away free first blood and gives the deathstorm pods a chance to get a better opening. An extra 30 marines for 2 more turns might of turned the tide.

Just my opinion, but again great report!

I did some mind games with him. Sent him a picture of 100 Gaunts, and told him the Tyranids were coming. He probably decided flamers were a better option than Grav. Grav is good against Tyranid MC's. But my Raveners, and Shrikes can close quickly to deal with it. I was more worried about Salamander Melta.
