Subject: Maulerfiend/Forgefiend, first serious atempt on OSL

Hi,
When I see a mini with Objekt Source Lightning Effects I'm always impressed.
So I wanted to give it a try myself.
When the Forgefiend mini was released I knew, that I want to paint that thing and it simply screams OSL.
Since I had only time to paint sporadicaly I completely forgot to take any Pictures of my progress.
So here's it.
I'm quite pleased with the outcome but still C&C are welcome.
All parts are interchangeble and magnetized.
On the one hand I wanted to have that glowing effect on the chest bust since I wanted to use it as forgefiend and maulerfiend I couldn't go full out on it.

Great job mate. Although, considering the work that went into the model itself, I would have liked to see some more effort put into the base.

Great job!
The base does indeed need some painting - not the rocks, but the black underneath it all.

Pretty good. not over done and not an over sprayed mess.
I think you could do a bit more OSL on the inner sides of the leg to show the light reflecting next to the chest, as well on the mauler arms. nothing excessive, just a bit of line highlighting with the osl color i think would do. and just a little bit.

You guys are right.
I was so pleased with myself that I completely forgot to work on the base.
I could at least have cleaned is up a bit.
I will definitly fix that.

I am doing a similar project myself. With it being magnetized. Good paint but, like the others, I agree your base need some work. Also some OSL in the smoke stacks in the back might help some IMHO.

Really good attempt for sure. It's suggest to tweek it, the light source itself is always brighter than the glow, even when reflecting off a surface. So either add more white top the source of the glow ( to make it brighter) or make the edges you painted darker than the source of the light because in the picture they look to be the same brightness.
Other than that though, great job. OSL is one of those things I've tried and with the paints I use I just can't get the effect. That's cheap paint for ya

Just cleaning the base up will improve it greatly!
