Anyone had experience playing with or against similar lists?

Spending 900 points on 6 carnifex's... As awesome as that sounds if you don't have catalyst they are going to be picked off very fast... I'd love to see how that goes down though... 72 twin linked strength 6 shots at bs3 would be absolutely INSANE but if you're upgainst a tank company or even a landraider, you're in trouble.

I don't know, I feel like I like it but the list is unusually small for nids. Play test it and let us know how it goes! A batrep would be sweet.

The second list you don't need comments on, skyblight is skyblight. That list with 8 fmc's is scary. Enough said

To not change it too much (as I really like how it does both target overload and target priority well) I feel that it can be optimized without losing what your original concept is. My changes are in red

Shooty big bugs:

2 x Flyrants 2x T/L devourers, Electroshock Grubs

3x Zoanthropes 1 Zoanthrope
3x Zoanthropes 1 Zoanthrope
3x Venomthropes 2 Venomthrope

3x Warriors-Barbed strangler
3x Warriors-Barbed strangler
Broodlord (scything talons, toxin sacs) + 7 genestealers

2x Carnifex x T/L devourers
2x Carnifex x T/L devourers
2x Carnifex x T/L devourers

Flying Bugs:

2x Flyrants 2x T/L devourers, Electroshock Grubs
2x Flyrants 2x T/L devourers, Electroshock Grubs

3x Venomthropes 2 Venomthrope

10x Gants
10x Gants

x2 Crone

Skyblight:
1x Flyrant 2x T/L devourers, Electroshock Grubs

10x Gargoyles
10x Gargoyles
10x Gargoyles

2x Harpies
1x Crone

Reasons for changes:
  • Units of 3 venomthropes are typically overkill. If your opponent wants to waste them, they'll do so with ease. Save yourself 45 points (in this case 90).

  • Units of 3 Zoanthropes are inefficient and will be a sink of your warp charge points. Use them to cast catalyst (if they get it) or as warp charge batteries for the Flyrants. You'll want catalyst to keep your Dakkafexen alive even more so than the shrouding from the Venomthropes.

  • I dropped a Crone and gave all your Flyrants Electroshock grubs. Essentially a Crone gives you 2 haywire chances a turn maxing out at 4 total. I've given you 4 a turn to replace it, and there's no cap to how many times you can blast your opponent's metal boxes.

  • I added Broodlord and genestealers to again boost your warp charge pool and give you another unit that will be Objective Secured. There's a lot of neat stuff you can do with them, especially with the threat overload in the list. They'll likely be ignored.

  • If my group played more 2k games I this is the list I would bring. It would be crushing.

I like most of the suggestions, though I'd keep the Zoeys doubled out, and pay for that by losing the "Stealers.. At 2000+ swarms of FMC is pretty much the only game in town...(so far)

The suggestions are pretty good. Im leaning more to the flying list though tons of fexs is just awesome. Seeing a unit of 2 smack down a knight was pretty sweet. I have messed around with electroshock grubs they are nice for armies with vehicles. Some of the guys I play with don't really use that many, though I use a ton in my BA army.
