I ordered the warboss edition for my orks the day it went up for pre-order. I know it was $$$ but like most ork player, I have an addiction…

But the issue is how long it’s taking to get to me. I live in Topeka, Kansas, not a thriving metropolitan area but still the capital city of Kansas! It took one day for Fedex to ship the package from Mississippi to Lenexa Ks (Part of the Kansas City Metro area). Then it took them 3 days to ship the package across town to the Kansas City Kansas Smart Post facility. Now its saying its going to take until Thursday to get my package to Topeka(Less than an hour away from KC Kansas). ? It would have been faster to send the package USPS.

Heres the updates from their website

6/30/2014 - Monday
1:37 pm Arrived at FedEx location FEDEX SMARTPOST KANSAS CITY, KS
-

6/28/2014 - Saturday
8:35 am Departed FedEx location LENEXA, KS
-

6/27/2014 - Friday
5:15 pm Arrived at FedEx location LENEXA, KS
5:53 am Departed FedEx location OLIVE BRANCH, MS
-

6/26/2014 - Thursday
7:18 pm Arrived at FedEx location OLIVE BRANCH, MS
8:23 pm Shipment information sent to FedEx
12:00 am Picked up OLIVE BRANCH, MS

Has anyone else had similar issues with Fedex? I thought Fedex was supposed to be faster than USPS?

Wanna guess where I work

The problem you're having is that Fedex has two main sorts (where boxes are removed from one truck and loaded into another). One in the afternoon and one early morning. So basically no matter the distance, Point A to B will always take 1 day at least. UPS is the same. Don't know about USPS.

Lenexa is a Ground facility, which does not facilitate home delivery (usually). If they moved it to a Smartpost they're trying to work the package into a home delivery truck. This is a bit unusual, as I have no idea why your package found it way into a Ground facility. Likely, someone at its origin point loaded it into the wrong truck and it's just now that it's being noticed.

Oh also obligatory "It's a small world after all" reference

I'll wave at you when I drive through Kansas City in few days.

OP: Yup.. .that's odd. But, at least you know where the package is at the moment.

I figured it must have been a mix up because this is the first time I’ve ever had this type of delay, thanks for the info!

Do you ever play over at table top? Hands down my favorite FLGS I’ve been to since moving to Kansas!

I have been there a few times, but I just don't have the time or money to game like I use to as I pay my own bills now

They have live tracking specifically because they got tired of fielding every phone call asking when people were gonna get their package Though, in this case WarTrip would probably be right to call in and ask what's up. It shouldn't take this long.

Honestly, insult the drivers all you want. I've been a loader, and their job is quite difficult but they get paid a gak ton for it and a lot of them are donkey-caves over the dumbest things;

"Why is this box here!"
"Because 214-3568 goes between 214-3560 and 214-3588?"
"This is Adams street! Adams street goes over here!"
"Then maybe you should change Adams street from shelf 3500 to shelf 7000 Floor?" < Not actually allowed to say this

Cause there are 250+ boxes on this truck, I have 4 hours to move them all, and I don't have time to read your mind about how you've got your truck set up wrong

FEDEX is one of the authorize carriers for the US Military to deliver sensitive items. So far IIRC they have "lost"
Six 9mm
13 M4's
11 M16A2's
24 Manpack SINGARS

and
numerous boxes of Grid Squares

When I was a loader at Chantilly, I moved some interesting things.

1. The CIA does put CIA on their boxes! Weird right?
2. The L. Ron Hubbard Society, moves a lot of books.
3. Wal-mart is a company run by douches. Why does this 6 inch by 5 inch package weigh 123 pounds? What is in there seriously!? I was tempted to open it just to know.
4. People put your paycheck in see through plastic bags and it should disturb you because I can see your name and address.
5. People ship packs of bottled water. Really. Someone paid to ship a 24 Pack of Deer Park every week for eight months.
6. That CDC package said "Hazard" on it. I don't know what it was. I just hope it's non-lethal.
7. Put "Fragile" or "Handle with care" on your package? Yeah. i advise you move it yourself, cause no one is going to handle it with care.
8. Medical records, legal papers, and tax files go in boxes. Paper is heavy. Boxes break. Papers spill all over the place. Sometimes they get destroyed.... Sorry bout that.

Here's the kicker of military Logistic. The weapons over time are flown out on military transport from Iraq and Afghanistan. Get to Dover, De. From there its FEDEX to Ft. Benning GA which has a airfield that can handle military transport aircraft. What's even crazier. There's "acceptable" loss on shipments. Not enough weapons go missing in transit to raise an alarm.

They're coming FROM the military ... surprisingly, I wouldn't call half the military weapons "military grade" at all... such gakky maintenance is done on most weapons (at least, I've seen enough in support and other "non-fighter" type units to see the difference)

Yep. Sometimes I wonder where the missing boxes go. I've been approached a few times by QA asking

"Have you seen this box?"
"No. Is it damaged?"
"No we can't find it."

I never know if they do find it, but I assume if they don't its just sitting lost in a warehouse somewhere. The nature of our facilities doesn't let boxes sit in a truck missed for too long, so it had to have been taken off and vanished. Who knows. Years later, someone might be going through a large storage area and find some M4's just sitting in a box that's been there for years

Fraud wouldn't shock me either though. Huge company. Long distance travel. They offer a $2500 reward for reporting stolen packages and we have security check us in and out, no cellphones allowed inside. Stuff surely goes missing through less than legitimate means (Otherwise why have the security?).

Nah... just track the flights (somehow) and wait underneath them for something to maybe fall out

We have one driver who is a serial offender. On a daily basis he seems to 'forget' that all packages are at the dock to the rear of the building (and pick up notices mark them as such), yet he still comes to the desk at the front to ask for his pick ups

Don't do that. Depending on the type of choke blokes used on the aircraft your going to either come out with scrap and bruises to an impalement
