Something else to consider, I guess, is that the single 2D6 attacks isn't bad for 90 points. The average roll on a 2D6 is 8, so 8 Str5 (or Str6, with the LoC) AP4 shots at 24''. Compare that to the 150 point Dakkafex which puts out an average of 6 strength 6 AP- hits at 18''.

Granted, a Carnifex is also much stronger in assault and more durable, but then it's 60 points more expensive.

I would just like to say that "Reliable" success from casting any of the summoning abilities from the Malefic tree has a decent success rate with less than 7 dice... I've only ever been using 6 MAX per WC3 summon, never had a REAL issue, it either goes off or it doesn't. You can play the number games all you want with that notion, but if you continuously waste that 1 or 2 dice just to get a few % extra chance... Well, I've never done it lol So I can't say it's ever helped

I only really fail summons a few times an entire game. I mean, when running 4 Heralds of Tzeentch, 3 Daemon Princes and 2 - 4 squads of Pink Horrors (16) for 3 WCs a piece, you have 27-33 WC points + D6. Now obviously not every group is going to be casting summons, nor should it ever be expected that even half succeed, but most of the time, they tend to. Rolling a 50% on each dice is simple. 4+ aren't hard to get with 5-6 dice.

In short, I still love my Pink Horrors <3

Would really like to see your list.

There's not a lot of people playing it right now , there are a few on the forums that go back and forth in pm, but most no one really is at least not posting BR and Army Lists.

Are you going with Winged Princes in the HS, and the HQ? I dont understand.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

My usual 1500 point list is as follows

HQs

Herald of Tzeentch +; ML3, Exalted Reward = 125
Herald of Tzeentch +; ML3 = 95
Herald of Tzeentch +; ML3 = 95
Herald of Tzeentch +; ML3 = 95

Keeper of Secrets +; ML1 = 170
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Troops

Pink Horrors x 16 (ML3) = 144
Pink Horrors x 16 (ML3) = 144
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Heavy Support

Daemon Prince +; Slaanesh, Greater Reward, Wings, Power Armor = 310
Daemon Prince +; Slaanesh, Greater Reward, Wings, Power Armor = 310

This list comes out to 1488 and has served me quite well. Fill in points with Horrors if you'd like or add in a Lesser Reward. I tend to use the 1 Exalted Reward on my herald to take the Portaglyph. This list is a guaranteed 24+D6 Warp Charge Points. The Lash Princes roll entirely on Biomancy since they want to be getting Iron Arm. The Heralds all roll for Maelefic powers, sit inside ruins or behind cover blocking LoS most of the game. The Keeper of Secrets advances up the board but doesnt engage in combat unless absolutely necessary. The princes Lash out (har har) at anything that gets in range. If you want to be REALLY adventurous, instead of the Keeper of Secrets to unlock Slaanesh Princes, take a GUO and unlock the Nurgle Princes. They can still move 12" but can also jink, granting them a 2+ cover save and never have to worry about shooting snap shots as they can still assault since they just moved 12" Equip them with a Balesword, destroy everything that isnt a vehicle.

Life: An incomprehensible, endless circle of involuntary self-destruction.

The chaos daemons book powers definitely took a number of hits due to the mechanics of 7th edition. They did however gain a tactical advantage as well as all psykers gaining an extra power. The tactical advantage is that the WC pool can be applied to any psyker you want and not just the one generating them. Therefore if you get a single pink horror behind an enemy tank or with a special weapon as the nearest target you can boost flickering fire to the max and throw 9 dice at it (depending on deny the witch you may need to). Seeing how the range of flickering fire is 24" I rarely had more than a unit or two of pink horrors that could really apply the power with significant effect. Ironically the units of pink horror that are within 24" of the enemy are also the units most likely to take casualties and thus have their WC reduced.

For these reasons I actually think that the flickering fire power has gotten somewhat better on a unit of pink horrors. This is especially true as pink horrors have become much more useful overall for their use in reducing the effects of perils effects and their uses for sacrifices, etc.

This same effect BTW also makes fatey a pretty nasty little bomb type character. He can be flown into the middle an army and you can dump all the WC you have to some pretty crippling effects depending on the powers rolled.

Yeah, people forget that Fateweaver is a straight up Gunboat considering he can fire all of his Witchfires now. I don't even Grimoire him he comes stock with a 4++ , with Cursed 3++.

I generally don't use pink horrors in squads larger than 12 to 13 now as I want more chances to get Possession. Getting a 16 man squad possessed sucks. I run them in groups of 12.

I like your list it's good, I've ran something a little similar. Lash Princes are pretty the best.
