I keep hearing a few rumors about Space Wolves being the next Loyalist codex to come out and its due this summer sometime apparently.

Anyone know anything?

What would you like to see for the codex?

My WIsh list is somewhat simple


1. Skyfire for Long Fangs. Nothing else really changed....even though I have a feeling that their weapons will double in points and their cost will go up and they will loose their special awesome abilities that make them unique....but hopefully that does not happen and they just gain skyfire.

2. A New Tank of somekind - Maybe a tank that is special to them only ...... NO FLYERS.

3. BJORN in a DROP POD! This needs to freakin happen.. Please.

4. No Flyers please. I think a flyer would ruin the feel of the space wolves. Plus, Not every codex needs them. If they want to fly bad enough, They can demand the Inquisitors send a Thunderhawk or a Valkyrie ship over the the Imperial Guardsmen can transport them in style.

5. Improvements on their jump infantry, their blood claws and bikers. No one uses those in a space wolf army as there are much better options. So, give them something to make them more appealing to use.

6. A new HQ or two would be neato!

7. A Walker Mech of somekind. everyone is getting one, SW needs one.

8. Bjorn needs a bump in power IMO. I think he needs something extra. Pretty much all he has is a somewhat useful ability and an invulnerable save. However, I feel that is a bit shallow for a character that is suppose to be the equivilant of Thraka. He is Woken up every 1000 years and only goes to combat under dire circumstances. He rolled with the OG Primarch of their chapter. I think giving him a huge boost and throwing him in the Lords of War Catagory would be appropriate.

9. While I like the psychic power, Jaws of the World wolf needs to go. Pretty much, any ability for any army that allows instant kill with no saves of any kind allowed should go away.
Put something AMAZING in its place. Something that will make others quiver in their boots but still be fair.

10. Rules for weapons and what not that are based off of "cold things". What I mean is, cold and frost and snow is how they all evolved and grew up and became marines. Their frost weapons should have some sort of cold based powers. They should have a frost gun that fires ice bullets or something that has its own special rules or has something from the Universal special rules.

More creative fun stuff.

11. A little less flavor - Take out a lot of the wolf from the names of stuff.

What I would like to see:

Blood Claws drop to 13/14ppm, Grey Hunters stay at 15ppm
Cheaper TH/SS Terminators
Bjorn getting more power
Not sure on the new unit, I hope it's not a massive walker though. A Bjorn/new-dread-type dual kit would be pretty cool, though.

What I expect:

Bjorn is given a set Warlord trait... he gets Fear.
Space Wolves pack is 'Dire Avengered' and cut to 5 models for £20, removing what is arguably the best value SM box in the game.
New Wolf-Walker*, which is a Super-Heavy-Cavalry-Beast-Walker and consists of a giant mechanical Thunderwolf ridden by a SW Dreadnought.


*Can combine with the Blood-Knight, a Not-Quite-Super-Heavy-Jump-Pack-Character-Walker-Flyer exclusive to Codex Blood Angels, and the Deathwing Knight, which is a Very-Bulky-Super-Heavy-Walker with a 2+ save, AV13, Storm Shield and Thunder Hammer (released via White Dwarf Weekly and inserted retroactively into Dark Angel fluff) to form the Imperial Knight... oh, wait, that's taken... The Astartes-Knight, second only to the UltramaKnight in power (also available for the small cost of 1 kidney and your firstborn son).

What I want:

No major changes, a rebalance with all options being viable, not losing any character, no random tables, maybe a new model that isn't wolfy mc wolf wolf of wolfington.

What I expect to see:

No major changes, a random shuffle of balance that doesn't actually fix things, random tables, a new model that is wolfy mc wolf claw fang mane wolfing of wolfington.
