Can anybody recommend some good glue to use on metal minis? I have tried something called e-6000 and i would never use that again. I got a pack with 4 small tubes and threw 3 of them away unused. something that works in less than the 30 minutes that I gave e-6000 would be nice

I would recommend a small amour of two part resin. It may take a little while to go off but it will be stuck. Or you could get some gorilla grip or any type of two part super glue.

If it's a critical load bearing part on a metal, 5 minute epoxy and sit it in front of a heater (it needs at least 18* to kick off the curing - the warmer it is ambient, the faster it will go off.
I've had 5 minute stuff cure in 2 minutes in an Aussie summer.
Otherwise, superglue and a pin do wonders.

I gotta agree with the suggestions of 5 min epoxy and pins and superglue. I'm useing a Loctite epoxy currently and it's performed just fine. Put an equal amount on some scrap paper, mix, apply to the parts, and hold them together. As for super glue and pins I use a half mil drill bit and brass rod, but a paper clip cut apart works too. I can recomend Locktite gel superglue and my new favorite, Gorrila Glue superglue. The Gorilla Glue brand claims to give a slightly flexable bond so as to be "resistant to slight shocks." Seems to do fine in that area. The bottles also have the nicest tip and cap of any glue I've used. Haven't been able to gum it up yet, still comes out like it should. Might want to use some superglue accelerator too. Accelerator is sold at modeling shops and will cure the glue almost instantly. Put glue on one surface, spray or otherwise moisten the other with accelerator, mate the surfaces (test fit first), and you're done. Accelerator is mildly oily, smells like lighter fluid, and is flammable. If you model by candle light, or smoke be careful. As the substance is oily watch the surfaces for run off as it might affect paint adhesion later on.

Does anybody have any experience on different plastic glues? The claim for plastic glue is that it welds the plastic together, and yet the pieces can still break off once cured just as if not easier than superglue.

Revell super glue all the way. I have never had a problem with pieces coming away from their points, and snapping off can realistically happen with any of them if you apply enough force.

Revell plastic model glue (the stuff in blue bottles) is great, it is affordable and comes with a precision nozzle so you can get it right where you need it.

Superglue. Well good quality stuff anyway there's not much it won,t stick things to.
Just may need somthing stronger for hevey joints as Superglue can be brittle.

To clarify, I was answering Quarterdime's question about plastic glues. For the OP, I'd recommend Locite superglue. Sorry for any confusion.

I agree with many others on metal: superglue.
I suggest the "thick" or "gel" type glues, as they are easier to work with on parts that do not have perfect fits.
If you are working with a very big or heavy part, then epoxy is a good suggestion as well.
