So, I play an ice worlder regiment of imperial guard, but I like the idea of the tauros and tauros venator. What I had planned to do was to hack up a space marine scout bike and make a snow mobile out of it.

My problem is, what sort of treads should I use? is there a warhammer kit I can bash for it, or should I go out of company, or do I have to go and make treads myself out of plasticard? any suggestions would be helpful.

You could use Rhine tracks for the rear and green stuff a front ski. You may need to apply a little heat to bend the tracks to make them more rounded. I would say go to a bits site and get some cheap.

Somewhere in south-central England.

I would just buy a pile of die cast snowmobiles.

Much cheaper and much less work.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Would second that. I had used the Hot Wheels snowmobile in the past. It is a good size, and looks sufficiently futuristic. Matchbox does one as well - which is also a good size, but it looks more like a real snowmobile.

Another option would be to do a tracked motorcycle:

The prototypes from the 1930s would fit in quite well with other IG vehicles (tanks in particular) while the Hyanide concept would give a more modern/sci-fi feel.

Take a look at the recently released Azog treadbike from Mad Robot Miniatures.

Another tracked bike option is from Spartan Games in their Dystopian Legions game.
