The way the new mob rule works it looks like telepathy could really give them fits. What do you think?

Due to low Ld, yes the orks can be badly hit by Telepathy power.

But that's not related to the mob rule - which impacts only moral test and pinning test, if i recall correctly, not all Leadership tests.

XC18 is correct. Ork's wont be passing many leadership tests, but you can only trigger Mob Rule when they fail moral or pinning. Considering the most ork units a lot less expensive than Belakor, I don't think this is a problem. Watch for those traktor kannons

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

It's not the psychic scream that makes Be'lakor good against Orks. It's the Terrify and Dominate powers.

Terrify can make them take a morale test at - 1. That's pretty decent way to force a mob rule test. Dominate makes them test on their low Orky leadership before they try to do anything (also very cool).

I fail to see how a 60% chance for 1d6 S4 AP - hits are a decent power. Just shoot them with whatever witchfire you feel like for better results. Dominate has already been the bane of nob units before the new codex, so that won't change a lot. Again, Bela'kor is about twice the points of the unit he is going to dominate, so it's all fair that he's somewhat powerful.

I would just like to point out that anything shooting at anything else, which just so happens to be FMC, which just so happens to have Shrouded, will have a 2+ jink save while Gliding...

That means you can still move 12" & assault, while effectively having a 2+ cover save/

This. As a Daemon player, for the same Warp Charge I'd rather use Flickering Fire for 2D6 S5 AP4 shots. Or Psychic Shriek, to just outright remove however many models they failed the Ld check by. I've always viewed a roll of 1 or 2 on the Telepathy table as a dud. Although with the nerf to Terrify now it's a 1, 2 or 3.

Its a 60% to try and force them to run away, on a 4+ if you have less then 10 models they are running, or on a 1 they are running. Most of the specialists will be under 10 models. Then force another morale check in shooting and that unit could be off the table. Pretty easy way to deal with orks.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

It's actually two tests at -1 once during your phase once during theirs, add in Dominate, Psychic Scream which goes off their low leadership etc...

Orks basically get bent over by Daemonss because they all have fear. Enjoy WS 1.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

WS 1 isn't a big deal to Orks who no longer charge. I have all of 1 unit in my 2000 point list that is assault orientated and it's fearless.

Orks have been moving more and more shooty every edition since 4th, with 7th seeing shooty-only lists.

I just see it now 30 Orkboyz get Terrify cast on them turn one they fail their LD test they roll a 1 on the mob rule re-roll another 1 and their off the board. It may not happen often but when it does ouch. As others mentioned it will be even more effective vs lootas, bikers, meganobs and other special units that don't take 10 man units.

That would only be meganobz, and artillery would probably the best target with ld5 anyways. Also, even a 12" fallback would struggle to actually make them run off the board, considering you actually hit the 0.001% chance of that happening, ignoring the possiblitly of denying that power. The same amount of points in some shooting unit would outright kill whatever you aim them at, so it's far from an orks "worst nightmare".

I'm with the be'lakor > orks crowd here.

his powers are just brutal to orks, he can slap -1 on any unit for a turn, dominate, and shroud other units nearby. orks don't have much ignores cover, and manipulating their already paltry leadership skill, and locking down units, he seems pretty harsh.

yes be'lakor is expensive, but the codex it self isn't struggling. i play and love both my orks and demons, i wouldn't want to play my demon army with orks.

Yep, he's ruining ork's low ld. But who doesn't? In 6 ed there was a combination with terrify that locked 30 boyz in place also. On the other hand, there's like 30-40% cnahce that orkses are gona be fine. Good enough for me.

Dominate really screws with assault units. Shrouding screws with shooting units. Invisibility doesn't hurt orkwork shooting much, but it screws with orks in cc.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Be'lakor is one of those all around amazing characters. Orks are not the only army that should worry about him.
