If it hadn't made over $20k it would be funny, but that actually makes it kind of sad.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

I’m a little doubtful of his ability to deliver. He’s promising to ship a spoonful of potato salad with a $3 pledge. I’d be worried that he’s shipping nothing but food poisoning out at that price point. For food shipments, particularly mayo based ones, I’d expect the price to be a LOT higher then that.

And I’d be wary of an amateur’s salad. I’ve been spoiled by my grandfather’s recipe, which I make a number of times per year. If it doesn’t start with cooking a pound of bacon, and then using all the fat as the base for the dressing, it’s not real potato salad.

Well the risks and challenges say it'll be the first one he's made.

As long as Tony Reidy isn't behind it we'll be fine.

Yeah, like that stupid flying butts one. Whoever thought that one up should be ashamed of themselves.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Someone should just get it over with and make a kickstarter called "Get me out of debt", the only goal being "At $40 000 I pay off my student loan"

We're watching you... scum.

flying butts > potato salad!

While I think this is both neat and stupid that this guy has gotten serious coin and a lot of media attention I cant help but wonder why people are throwing money at stuff like this...lots of better ways to waste money....plus I wonder what sort of "copy cat" kickstarters we will see from other people trying to get "rich" fast.

Also does this guy have to pay taxes on the money?

Yes, he will have to pay taxes on it. More importantly, and whats really going to do him in, is that in order for him to follow through on his kickstarter "obligations" hes going to have to ship a bite of potato salad to over 1500 backers, the shipping costs of which will likely come out to about $12,000 on its own, as he will have to send it via refrigerated truck, etc. etc. etc.
