Because the article is a reference to livestock dying of disease, and non-human animals cannot be infected with or transmit human smallpox. In other words, the article is wrong, or more accurately, imprecise: they had goatpox.

I've quite a few here who gave me there cell #'s. I have never abused that trust. You called me out and I am backing it up on why its classified and cannot be "Googled"

The AMR's I save is to protect me if I think if its a questionable and/or significant event. Its a reference for me. Mind you I will block out quite a bit of info. Aircraft tail numbers, pilots, call sign's, material, pax's, route, and mission purpose. You do not need to know what we do, how we did it nor what we encounter. The form cannot be Google that I know of

Honestly not sure what's going on above here but if we could return to the topic at hand, such as it is, it would be appreciated.

All good. Its a done deal. No one wanted to see the AMR for the mission so I still stand there was two villages hot for Small Pox. early 2000

- The World Health Organization reported in 2005 and 2010 that there has not been a single confirmed case of smallpox in 30 years.

- I have not been able to find a single article from a single medical journal indicating any confirmed or even suspected cases of smallpox anywhere in the world.

- The US military must be pretty damn good and/or stupid to keep it a secret from the rest of the world that smallpox cases are happening in Afghanistan, especially with ex-military members going "oh yeah, smallpox is still totes around" on random internet forums.

- The only single report that claims that smallpox is still around is hosted by an anti-vax group.

No offense, but I'm going with the entire worldwide medical community here and I'll just chalk the words of an internet warrior up to bs.
