Subject: Strength 10 large blast ignores cover?

I've been trying to come up with a list of the strongest weapons in 40k, specifically focused on Str10. Here's what I have so far:
no blast
Graviton beamer- 12" s10, ap1, one shot pistol
Tachyon Arrow- S10 ap1, assault 1
Rupture cannon- 48" s10, ap4 assault 2
Warp Gaze- 12" s10, ap1, heavy 1
Wraithcannon- 12", S10, ap2, assault 1 distort (ID on 6)
Heavy Wraithcannon- 36", S10, ap2, assault 1 distort (ID on 6)
Railgun- 72" S10 ap1, heavy 1
small blast
Conversion beamer- over 42", s10, ap1, blast
Orbital Strike Relay lance shot- unlimited, s10, ap1, blast, lance, always scatters
line
Death Ray- 12" S10, ap1, heavy 1
large blast
Demolisher cannon- 24", s10, ap2, large blast
Storm Eagle rockets- Str 10 ap4 D3, large blast, barrage
Orbital bombardment- unlimited, s10, ap1, large blast, barrage, always scatters
Deathstrike missile- Str10, ap1, apocalyptic blast, barrage, ignores cover, one use
Psychic powers
Vortex of doom WC3- 12" sD, ap1, blast vortex
Psychic Maelstrom WC3- 12" S10, AP1, barrage, large blast
Only the Deathstrike missile comes with ignores cover, but it can't shoot in the first turn and it is only a one shot weapon. With markerlight support the railgun can ignore cover. Casting Perfect timing with a farseer will give a squad of wraithguard toting wraithcannons ignores cover, which is horribly potent even with 12" range. The graviton beamer comes on a special character (inquisitor Valeria) that no one has ever used and will not be in the next codex, but she can be joined by a psyker for ignores cover.
Many of the barrage weapons ignore most cover now that we can no longer get area terrain, but do not ignore jink, shrouded, stealth, etc. The orbital bombardments can be joined by a psyker with ignores cover. Especially deadly with the master of ordnance since he can cast every turn
The Psychic powers have to have a lot go right for them to work. First you have to successfully roll for them and casting a WC3 power is hard. Then your opponent gets a DTW opportunity (with modifiers). Finally you have such limited range that it is always risky.
This doesn't include Lords of War (hellhammer, stormsword) nor any forgeworld units.
Any that I'm forgetting?

Partially true. We no longer have the rule "area terrain" but its actually still around and technically easier to get. Ruins, Rubble, and Forests do not require 25% coverage anymore and the first two confer a 4+ save. Barrage wouldnt ignore this since 25% obscurity isnt required to get the save. Also Orks have two spells and a few guns that can be S10. Killbolt: Warpcharge2 18" S10 Ap1 Beam If you count things that CAN be S10 but arent always S10, then theres: Da Krunch: Warpcharge2 24" S2D6 AP4 Large Blast (S11/12 rolls enable another attack on the same target, first one counts as S10) Smasha Gun: 36" S4+ D6 AP1 Zzap Gun: 36" S2D6 AP2 Shokk Attack Gun: 60" S2D6 AP2 Large Blast (possible Vortex effect)

Forests no longer exist unless you're using the GW model.

The twisted copse is the GW model, which does give cover even when not 25%.
If we're adding things that can randomly be Str 10, then also the Daemon exalted gift for wind of chaos, S 2D6 Ap4, blast, but if you roll 11 or 12 it becomes large blast.

I'd also note that the deathstrike has an apocalypse version that fires a vortex missile. The blast radius is a little smaller, but it's a D weapon upgrade to the regular deathstrike that leaves a vortex (a la the grenade) in its wake.
Not a whole lot of S10 Ap1 ignores cover weapons that can also destroy terrain.
And the best part is that you have to take a lord commissar with the formation because they need someone who won't hesitate to push the red button and give the launch order.

Forests and trees are completely gone from our meta. Everything that used to be a forest is now 25% obscured if you're behind a trunk.
Unless you throw a Twisted Copse on the table, I'm not agreeing to area terrain. It's a bad rule they fixed.
