I have been playing 40k since the Armageddon Campaign in 3rd edition. I skipped half of 5th and all of sixth editions and I'm back for 7th. Been building my ork army up but I havent drawn up an army list in a while. I still need to build and paint a few of these units.. but here is what Im thinking for a general, sorta all comers list to build off from.

So the Warboss and MANz hitch a ride in the trukk and beeline for the front line. The boyz advance, with a painboy in each squad (except for one that will have to suck it up). The kommandos come from behind enemy lines and sow fear and havok. I thinking of a waved approach. Turn two the nobz and boos should be in combat. Snikrot and his boyz should be popping up. Turn three the boyz hit the line and snikky gets stuck in.

I see a lack of firepower which could be remedied by some big guns..probably custom mega blastas or lobbas.. not sure which.

Any suggestions from more experienced ork players? I love the horde feel. I'm not super competitive so keep that in mind. Just like to have fun.. but winning every once in a while would be nice

I like your list and I only have a few suggestions. The ork trukk with the MANz is going to get lit up turn 1 and you will lose your warboss and all those nobz to plasma gun and any other ap 2 they have comin at you. I'd take another painboy even though I know you are itchin to see your Mega nobz in action. You will need either more trukks or Battlewagons all loaded with things for that to work however. You could also take a Shokk Attack Gun if you want more shooty goodness! Good horde list though!

Manz missile has alwayz worked like this anywayz. It's probably become better now when they don't just have ld7 but can also have some nice extra chance of staying there.

I'm all about shelving Lootas for what seems like better cheaper kannonz and lobba. I also like tankbustas instead of Lootas, tankhunters makes them comparable to Lootas and the new glory hogs makes them worth the added risk of lower range shooting. Also melta bombs and AP3 shooting...

MANz missile should be disposable (I like BP with their trukk though) imo don't put the boss with them. Maybe consider running the boss with the Boyz, with attached PB and then use the squad without a Painboy as a screen for you Warbosses unit. I would seriously consider using the warboss as a point man to draw fire and LoS! AP2 things to Boyz with 5+ cover FnP. If you happen to draw the reroll one save a turn you could trololol for days.

I think you aren't taking advantage of Mekboyz as a 15 point IC to draw challenges off a PK nob.

I like the idea of running Snikrots unit with Burna to make an opponent seriously consider what he does on his back board edge.

I think if you run WB and PB in one unit of boyz it might be worth it to consider a warphead with DM sanctic powers for a chance at the two auras in that.

Seriously ladz, that's for the advice. Very very good points all around. I like the idea of the war boss ('EadStompa Gob Rot ) to go with a unit of boyz. His work warlord trait or whatever its called will definitely have more of an impact on the smaller gitz..whereas the MANz have power and speed and more or less.. just get stuck in ASAP.

Should the painboy-less unit "screen" one of the other two or the other way around?? Seeing the FNP would absorb incoming fire..but I suppose you would want as many FNP bodies in combat.....

So taking out the lootas for now and removing one boy from each choppa squad I can add 4 lobbas and 3 kustom mega blastas...that seems like a good trade

I have 10 points left over. I know could add a boy but I'm kinda OCD about the infantry having the same numbers. I mean if I have to it won't kill me...but ya know how it goes.

In terms of screening these are my thoughts;

Units with FnP are fought efficiently with things that double them out. Any unit I attached a painboy to I would try my best to get a cover save with.

One concern I have with your list is that I believe a mega armored warboss will give SnP to your boyz. Meaning that I think you want to make the warboss's unit Shootaboyz so they at least can spend one of those runless phases shooting. Your list is putting a lot of pressure on two footslogging boyz units to catch it so your warboss's unit can smack it.

I appreciate your reply! but I did change his armor to 'Eavy armor so he didnt slow down his unit.

I dont want to be "that" guy but anybody else have any thoughts? I havent played a game in years.

Does the MANz missile do enough damage to warrant the points?
