Our first 7th ed battle report. My goffs vs skimask mohawk'a nurgle marines.

We did crusade, ended up with 5 objectives. Right away, an improvement of 7th has been objective placement before knowing anything, makes it much more honest and fair. The game was very back and forth and pretty close all things considered. We both had a good time, however it's worth pointing out we played with this thing called an foc and didn't use any silly crap so I think that always helps. Vindicators are the bane of my existence. Gonna have to prioritize kickin the crap out of that thing next time.

I loved your closing comments, troubled indeed.

I am glad you seem to be having fun in 7ed.

Crab you should try the think'n cap for the 2 strategic warlord traits. Strategic traits are great for Orks especially infiltrating warlord + 3 units. Ghazzy can also be a warlord BTW as he is a character in your CAD. So put him in charge of the army if you want.

Lookin forward to your new report schedule. Good job on the report.

He actually did take the infiltrait

Meganobs and grotsnik in battlewagon and warboss and ardboys in truck were up in my grill turn 1. If he had went for the vindicator with the warboss he could have won right by turn two or three

Great batrep!

Though, note that you can't get multiple artifacts on one character. Ork dex explictly prohibits that, so oficially thinking cap + lucky stix + dead shiny shoota is illegal.

I had the finkin cap, it was cool. It's a shame he's not an HQ, making him a lord of war is just silly. I can make a nob or a mek my leader too, also silly. We should have another one up next week

Nope, the rule means you can't take multiples of the same artifact.

"Only one of each of the following artifacts may be chosen per army – there is only one of each of these items in the galaxy!"

That says, you can't have two lucky stikks or two finkin caps in your army.

P53 of the Ork codex in gifts of Gork and Mork section underneath that line..

"A model can take one of the following:"

Meaning you can only take one item from that list per HQ..

I know it sucks too, but if your group is reasonable just house rule it. Its what I've done in my group and its all cool beans

I like how the Orks are the first to set so many gakky new precedents; first to have Lords of War shoe horned in, first to have formations in the core book, first to have a limit on relics per model

My only hope is that every next codex is gona be at this very level. Cause orkses have great internal ballance right now. The problem is it doesn't scale with the current codexes that went out of controle like eldar.

Internal balance? I disagree, half the codex is under heavy support.

It's kinda baffling though, marines get a pass but orks get hosed. The new giant ork robot thing is crap but marines get yet another flyer they can assault out of. Le sigh.

This is seriously just a game about modeling and playing light heartedly. It amazes me every time I read a tournament players blog how they refuse to acknowledge this fact. You can play yahtzee at a competitive level if you want, that doesn't make it a good competitive game or an example of how strategic you are. 40k can be taken as serious as you want, but the game is a joke for taking seriously.

None of that was directed at you fellas, you just got me going with your post game realism.

Great report fellas. Awesome looking table and models, and rational house ruling share a fun night with friends! Bravo!

Awesome models, awesome batrep. As an Ork player, with the new rule set and codex, I was actually thinking about giving up the game before I saw your pictures. It has inspired me to keep painting and try some conversions, especially with my unassembled Killa Kanz.

What is the 5 page rule summary that you were referring to? Is it downloadable somewhere?

I don't write the rules. My ego just lives and dies by them one model at a time.

I hate painting, but I love the end result. Stick it out mang, you can still have a lot of fun with orks,.

Yeah personally I dislike how expensive Mobz are with 'eavy Armour because I use that to minimize damage from the Mob rule tests..

BW rush I personally believe is the way top go now, competitive or non-competitive

i disagree. I enjoy the Morkanaught a lot. It can be costly, 300 points to have its KFF upgrade and Riggers, but 5 HP on 13 F/S armor isn't anything for us Orks to scoff at. It pumps out a lot of S8 attacks, and can't be ignored by your opponents. It can wreck tanks with little effort with it's Klaw if it has too, and provides much needed Invul to shooting to our guys.

I'm honestly surprised how many people have, right off the bat, said these units are unimpressive. I don't regret buying mine. Has served it's job very well thus far, and the kit looks AMAZING in person.

I can agree and disagree with this:

A) I love the Gorkanought, I find it a really fun unit to play with

B) I agree with you on the flyer, I feel as though this bit was intentional though so SM/SW would look better to sell more

*grumble, grumble*

OMG those pics really show what 40k is about. All the whining at rules and prices etc but you look at an epic battle like that and it just puts all that aside in one awesome spectacle of death and destruction.

Those chaos cultists. How/where did you get them. Ive never even glanced at the chaos codex...but i think i want to now!
