and the more specific rules are

in CC walkers fight like infantry models.
step 2 fight CC

are walkers treated like infantry during the fight sub phase? no. when are they treated like infantry? when fight in CC, when do you fight in CC, step 2.

Where is your permission to ignore the vehicle rules during step 3? please explain how you resolve step 3 without using the vehicle rules. What does the vehicle rules say about consolidating under attack results? and why do you feel you can pick and choose which rules to use?

walkers may consolidate, you may not consolidate against vehicles. RAW is very clear and there is no conflict. so you should mark your post HYWPI.

There is no conflict there.

I wasn't, there is no conflict so the rules you presented are not more specific.

If that was true, why do you keep ignoring how to resolve step 3?

I will take any failure to answer this question as your admission you are arguing HIWPI and not RAW.

You pick and choose which of the vehicle rules to use because the rules tell us to.

"In close combat, Walkers fight like Infantry models."

Do enemy infantry units get a consolidate if they kill all enemy models in CC?

If yes, then fighting a walker yields the same effect as "In close combat, Walkers fight like Infantry models." and we know that Close combat is where two units from opposing armies are in base contact with each other." This would include consolidation moves.

Are walkers Vehicles? yes

Do infantry consolidate against vehicles? No

Do you have a rule to override this restriction? No

This is incorrect, as per the rules I posted earlier.

Oh yeah, it does specify "In close combat", so i'm back to the can't consolidate again... And that fixes Combat resolution (can't consolidate but Glance / Pens count as Wounds.)

I disagree, p44 and "the assault phase" is clear on how "Fight Close Combat" is step 2. "Determine Assault results" is step 3. and completely separate.

"Determine Assault results" is still Close combat.

"Close combat is where two units from opposing armies are in base contact with each other." (The Assault Phase chapter, assault phase summary section).

Yes, and "End of combat Pile In", "Consolidation" both say "After the combat" and "At the end of a combat".

Would you say that "At the end of a combat" they are still in base Contact when you check for consolidation?
