Article speaks for itself

"We'll find a new earth within 20 years" by Ken Ham, 7/20/2014 (http://blogs.answersingenesis.org/blogs/ken-ham/2014/07/20/well-find-a-new-earth-within-20-years/)

I’m shocked at the countless hundreds of millions of dollars that have been spent over the years in the desperate and fruitless search for extraterrestrial life. Even Bill Nye “the Science Guy,” in our recent debate, happily gloated about tax dollars being spent toward this effort. And now, secular scientists are at it again.

Of course, secularists are desperate to find life in outer space, as they believe that would provide evidence that life can evolve in different locations and given the supposed right conditions! The search for extraterrestrial life is really driven by man’s rebellion against God in a desperate attempt to supposedly prove evolution!

A UK news site recently reported, “Aliens are out there. We’ll find a new earth within 20 years.” Recent technologies have developed new space telescopes that will be used to study exoplanets (planets orbiting other stars) with the hope of discovering habitable, earth-like worlds that might contain life—at least that is what they hope for!

You see, according to the secular, evolutionary worldview there must be other habited worlds out there. As the head of NASA, Charles Borden, puts it, “It’s highly improbable in the limitless vastness of the universe that we humans stand alone.” Secularists cannot allow earth to be special or unique—that’s a biblical idea (Isaiah 45:18). If life evolved here, it simply must have evolved elsewhere they believe.

The Bible, in sharp contrast to the secular worldview, teaches that earth was specially created, that it is unique and the focus of God’s attention (Isaiah 66:1 and Psalm 115:16). Life did not evolve but was specially created by God, as Genesis clearly teaches. Christians certainly shouldn’t expect alien life to be cropping up across the universe. (There are other theological problems with intelligent alien life that you can read about here.)

Now the Bible doesn’t say whether there is or is not animal or plant life in outer space. I certainly suspect not. The Earth was created for human life. And the sun and moon were created for signs and our seasons—and to declare the glory of God.

And I do believe there can’t be other intelligent beings in outer space because of the meaning of the gospel. You see, the Bible makes it clear that Adam’s sin affected the whole universe. This means that any aliens would also be affected by Adam’s sin, but because they are not Adam’s descendants, they can’t have salvation. One day, the whole universe will be judged by fire, and there will be a new heavens and earth. God’s Son stepped into history to be Jesus Christ, the “Godman,” to be our relative, and to be the perfect sacrifice for sin—the Savior of mankind.

Jesus did not become the “GodKlingon” or the “GodMartian”! Only descendants of Adam can be saved. God’s Son remains the “Godman” as our Savior. In fact, the Bible makes it clear that we see the Father through the Son (and we see the Son through His Word). To suggest that aliens could respond to the gospel is just totally wrong.

An understanding of the gospel makes it clear that salvation through Christ is only for the Adamic race—human beings who are all descendants of Adam.

Many secularists want to discover alien life hoping that aliens can answer the deepest questions of life: “Where did we come from?” and “What is the purpose and meaning of life?” But such people are ignoring the revelation from the infinite God behind the whole universe. The Creator has told us where we came from: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1; Nehemiah 9:6). And He told us what life’s purpose is: “Fear God and keep His commandments” (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

The answers to life’s questions will not be found in imaginary aliens but in the revelation of the Creator through the Bible and His Son, Jesus Christ, who came to die on a Cross to redeem mankind from sin and death that our ancestor, Adam, introduced.

We need to start proclaiming the authority of God’s Word from the very first verse—even on the subject of alien life! For more information on the supposed existence of ETs and other common questions about a biblical worldview, I encourage you to order The New Answers Book series from our bookstore. Or for witnessing purposes, we have a booklet that can be ordered in bulk with special pricing to help teach people the truth about aliens and UFOs and promote the gospel for your local church or youth programs.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Ken

So Ken Ham is too stupid to comment on science and insists on doing so anyway. That's hardly news.

Someone should tell this guy that Evolution has been proven countless times already.

Also, I can't be sure, but I think that I felt my IQ actually drop while I was reading that "article".

I can already see the words twisting. Having Aliens arrive won't prove or disprove anything on the Religious front. Believers will just point out that God made us in his image and we are his beloved... aliens will be God's mistakes or demons. They will say that they've never said there can't be other forms of life, but we are the top lifeform in God's eye's.... Sheesh!

Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

...aliens would also be affected by Adam’s sin, but because they are not Adam’s descendants, they can’t have salvation...

So aliens are damned by the 'universal' sin of someone they have no relation to, but because they are not his descendants the possibility of salvation is closed to them.

Surely you can't have it both ways, who can make any sense of that?

Apparently god is a speciesphobe!

Also, scientists aren't trying to find extra-terrestrial life because they are desperately trying to prove evolution, they are trying to find extra-terrestrial life because that would be fricking cool (and possibly cause us all to be turned into slaves and / or become extinct, take your choice)!

"Secular scientists"?

Someone does not understand the scientific method. My religious convictions, or lack thereof, can't change evidence, can it?

so I guess god is just so puny and having an eternity of time on his hands can't create and populate other earth like planets? He did make all those other planets right?

It's entirely possible god found a new planet that worships him better so he's hanging out there and that's why he only has time to send a few images of jesus onto toast instead of calling a new prophet.

Now imagine those secularists horror should we find intelligent life and they have a copy of the Bhagavad-gita.

So, what if they do find aliens, but...
It turns out those aliens also believe in God!
Or maybe they find out that those aliens...
Are also humans!

In any case, the existence or non-existence of aliens has no relation at all to Christianity. Aliens aren't even mentioned in the Bible...

Apparaently, it is not at all reconcilable with Ken Ham's version of Christianity, which to my knowledge is just Evangelical Christianity (with some extra fervor in the Creationism department).

And I do believe there can’t be other intelligent beings in outer space because of the meaning of the gospel.

I open my eyes my eyes and see a flock of Klingon birds of prey. The vision lasts a second or perhaps less; I don’t know how many birds I saw - they cloaked - Were they a definite or an indefinite number? This problem involves the question of the detection of tachyon emissions . If I can detect tachyon emissions the number is definite, because how many birds I saw is known to me, and I am probably fethed. If I cannot detect the tachyon emissions the number is indefinite, because nobody can take count take count. In this case, it doesn't really matter how many I saw, once they de-cloak and fire I am really fethed, and get blasted to oblivion.
