Can vehicle with template weapons fire Overwatch when they are attacked in close combat?

Template and Blast Markers can’t Snap Fire.
Only weapons that can Snap Fire can Overwatch.
Vehicles can’t Overwatch unless a rule says something different.
Walkers can do Overwatch.
Template weapons have a special rule called Wall of Death that allows any unit with a template weapon to do a D3 hits if someone attacks them in Close Combat.

Does the Wall of Death rule allow vehicles with template weapon do a D3 hits in Overwatch?

I don't have the rule book in front of me, so I'm paraphrasing the rules above. But based on what I read last night , template weapons on a vehicle can Overwatch fire in close combat.

No because the vehicle can't overwatch which means it can't use the special rule wall of death, wall of death isn't another sub phase it's a rule that alters how a weapon fires in overwatch. No overwatch no rule

What does the Vehicle Overwatch rule say on page 78? Isn't it something like "Unless specified otherwise, vehicles cannot make Overwatch fire-"??

There is a rule saying Walkers can Overwatch fire.

Why wouldn't the the Wall of Death rule for templates work on vehicle? It say any unit with a template weapon can do an Overwatch fire even though it can't Snap Fire. Isn't this a " unless specified otherwise" rule?

Maybe it's only me seeing this as an ablilty for vehicle with flamers can Overwatch fire. Maybe I was hoping too much to be able to use the sponson flamers on the Leman Russ' again.

Because the rule only removes the restriction on template weapons firing overwatch because they can't fire snap shots. It does not remove the restriction that vehicles can not fire overwatch.

That and above allows the specific situation for Tau long strike to overwatch.
