Hey guys
How do you run your farseer and what unit do you put him in?
Having trouble using him well. Without him being a waste that is.
I don't get on here often so thanks in advance on any tactic help you can give me

I don't play eldar but my usual appointment does and his Farseer is always in a gang of wraithguard, the T6 keeps her relatively safe and nukes I plasma them to death it's a tough nut to crack.

Mine usually ends up with Avengers which has had mixed results.
Pastel has good advice though. T6 doubles your T, makes you immune to instant death and gives a pretty powerful bodyguad which lasts untill every Wraith is killed due to how majority toughness works.

Put him on a jetbike with 3-4 warlocks on jetbikes. Zip all over the place throwing handfuls of psychic dice at whatever you want to kill or protect.

Instant death is per model. Majority T values influence rolls to wound, nothing else.
Farseers need to be on foot or bike to cast powers, as they can't do anything in a transport. They do best in big and/or tough units such as wraithguard, bikes, shining spears, avengers or guardians. The more the better to protect your seers. Seers throw out buffs and debuffs, they are not really combat oriented but can hold their own if need be. Stock is good, but spring for a singing spear if you have the points; an S9 shot is simply too good to turn down. The jetseer is the best, but footseers work decently well. The key is having the proper units to buff, so the farseer serves as a force multiplier.

Building on what Dr. Serling said, a good place to put them, if you have the models, is back with a couple of support weapon batteries. This keeps the farseer cheap, protects him with T7, gives the perfect units to buff with primaris prescience and guide, and gives the low leadership guardians a boost to 10 LD.

Forgot about support batteries! Terra is dead right; support batteries and farseers go together better than bacon and eggs.

And...this is not what you want.
Dont put your farseer in any transport, as he cant cast powers. This eliminates both dire avengers and wraith guard in ANY sort of competitive gaming. The by far best way to run a farseer is on a bike, which is what Toofast says, but with 3-4 warlocks is just ridiculous. If your going for a seer council go for either 5-6 farseers joined into a mantle seer, or the typical seer star.
My favorite way is to have him on a jet bike with mantle of the laughing god. It gives him a 2+ cover that he gets to re-roll if hes in any sort of cover. Thats right, a REROLLABLE 2+ cover save. Hes not dieing, which makes him an unkillable war lord. It also gives him near across field movement, sense you can use your psychic powers then go flat out. Really it is just an amazing piece of war gear.

you cannot join a mantle seer to a squad of warlocks. And a farseer on bike already has a rerollable 4+ invul and 3+ save with a bunch of warlocks as wounds.. running a lone farseer with mantle is a complete waste of points.

Obviously you cant join a farseer with mantle to warlocks. I never said you could. You can attach far seers to the mantle seer. A farseer on a bike has a little better than half chance to get fortune. for a re rollable 4+/3+. And even then it can easily be denied by otehr heavy psychic armies. Thats really really terrible compared to a automatic re rollable 2+ cover save. Pales in comparison. If your running a bunch of farseers the only way to make that even remotely competitive is with 2 farseers and Baron (or other 2+ tank). Any other way to use warlocks really is a waste. Do you not get that it requires 108 wounds on this mantle seer from weapons below s8 before he dies? 108. One Hundred and Eight. Wounds. Not hits. thats about 280 bolters shots before this guy is going down. And if you want to waste your anti tank on this guy go ahead, it will take 36 of your anti tank weapon shots before he dies. He is literally an unkillable warlord, if you can play him with any level of strategy. If you are saying that it would be better to have a couple warlocks with him than to have that level of survivability, you are Sorely Sorely mistaken. 40 point mantle compared to your 350+ points of warlocks. And the mantle seer is still more survivable. I laughed out load when you said he was a waste of points. He will give you line breaker every game, and prevent them from getting slay the warlord every game. Please go and play competitive eldar games, then come and say im wrong.

Unless your fighting ignores cover armies, then your re roll 2+ cover is useless.

Then you reserve him and kill the ignores cover items. Same thing you do with your serpents.
It is harder for sure, but against every army but 3 he is wonder full.
Definitely not a waste.

Jetseer is goatseer.
Farseer on a jetbike is how I play, easy to hide, possibly by himself, bu usally in a 6man jetbike squad, can easily zoom off to where he is needed.
