So, superheavies can fire each weapon at a different target per page 94.

It also states that multiple squads can be transported in the same vehicle on the same page.

Open topped makes no use of the fire point rule.

I have a stormlord. Per escalation 20 models can fire out of it with no mention of where they're firing out of.

My question: If I put 6 units in the stormlord, can they all fire at one target, or six?

"Conventional" rules would suggest one. Superheavy rules appear to suggest six.

What leads you to believe that all 6 units would have to fire at the same target?

Targets are selected unit by unit.

Really, nothing does beyond the fact that there's no situation that I can think of otherwise that has ever had multiple units firing out of a single vehicle.

I agree with your assessment. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. I'd rather get proven wrong here than if I was in the middle of a game.

A combat squadded tactical marine squad in a rhino is another easier case, 2 units firing from one fire point.

There is no restriction on where individual units have to fire, based upon their transport. Target selection is unit by unit, whetehr you have one unit embarked or 100

They fire from the troop bay. (the rear compartment)

Right on that too. I need to stop reading things after midnight. Comprehension goes way down.
