Hello all,

I thought up this list for my CSM force and wondered how competitive it is:

HQ

Lord: 170pts
- Bike, Volw, MoN, Lightning claw, Burning brand, Aura of dark glory, Ichor blood

Sorcerer: 135pts
- Mastery level 2, MoN, Aura of dark glory, Spell familiar

Troops

Plague Marines (7): 220pts
- Volw, Plasma x2, Power weapon (champ)

Rhino: 35pts

Plague Marines (7): 220pts
- Volw, Plasma x2, Power weapon (champ)

Rhino: 35pts

Plague Marines (7):210pts
- Volw, Melta x2, Power weapon (champ)

Rhino: 35pts

Fast Attack

Raptors (5): 95pts

Raptors (5): 95pts

Plan is for the units of plague marines to take objectives in the middle of the board and pour fire into the enemy units. The raptors are there to deny enemy objectives in the later turns of the game (deep striking in).

Thoughts?

Where does the lonely Biker lord go?

I'd suggest taking power axes on the sarges because they're often attacking last anyway.

Also, remember you're not getting any extra attacks on your chaos lord because the LC is a specialist weapon. If you can find the points, take a power fist for the classic LC/PF combo.

If you were to remove anything to make room for a purchase I'd toss the Ichor Blood and VoTLW upgrades first

If you dont want that helturkey, in the mean time you can get bikers or spawns to accompany the lord. Consolidate your raptors into a 10 man squad until you get bikers/spawns or helturkey. I would understand msu of raptors if they had pairs of melta/plasma guns.

So if I remove Ichor blood, volw and both raptor units that frees up 216pts.. Should I add this:

Chaos Bikes (5):160pts
- Melta x2, MoN

Sorcerer becomes ML 3 (25pts)

Biker lord gains a power fist (25pts) does he still get burning brand if he has PF/LC combo?

Yes, I like this. And yes, if you read the footnotes, the burning brand does not replace a weapon if you take it. Its a ring they put on their finger. The scrolls of Magnus and the Dimensional Key also do not replace a weapon
