I personally would like to see the assassins separated out from the Grey Knight codex, and made into a separate 'allied detachment' / 'formation' style thing much like the Inquisitor Datasheet.
It makes sense that Space marines, Imperial Guard and Sisters of Battle should theoretically get to be aided by any of the assassination temples without also having to tag along some HQ/troop options from Grey knights.
It wouldn't need to include anything else on top, just something to allow a single assassin as a bolt on to your main force, either Callidus, Eversor, Culexas or Vindicare.

Give this post a nod of approval if you feel the same way. Also feel free to use this post as a place to discuss your own take about how such a datasheet would need to be done to keep things fair and good.

Great, more things Imperials get that nobody else gets which can be combined to make broken combinations.

Most constructive post ever. Seriously, this should net you an award for 'most helpful poster'.
I like the idea, fluff wise, but when it comes down to having assassins as their own codex, that might be pushing it. Allying in an Inquisitor and some henchmen to unlock an assassin isn't that bad is, is it?

Only the Inquisitorial Armies Grey Knights, Sisters of Battle, and a theoretical Ordo Xenos Army should get access to Assassins.
I also don't believe in special Force Org's. They should take up Elite slots and only 1 per 1000 points of your army.

Nah, it works just fine. And since GW has done it before, and they are a big fan of the copapasta form of ereleasing, We could see this again:

Id love to see C:ASS
I think it would be interesting to put behind the scenes assassins like :
Venenum Temple - Comes with poison weapons but at the beginning of the game enemies take D6 something attacks.
Vanus Temple - Various reserve manipulation and mysterious/maelstrom card shenanigans
Maerorus Temple - makes a 4+ calls on rules a 3+ for you

I'd like to see more inter-factional options along the lines of Imperial Assassins.
Imagine three categories of faction:
- Imperium: duh. Get access to Assassins, Rogue Trader, and Inquisition forces.
- Xenos: Necrons, Eldar, DE, Tau. Get access to kroot, vespid, hrud, human colonists, and other alien mercenary forces.
- Disorder: Orks, Chaos, Nids. Get access to feral humans, traitor planetary forces, and genestealer infected populations.
You'd have to bend the fluff a little, but I think it'd be more believable than some of the ally forces I've seen on the table. And more fun for folks beyond just the imperial crew (like me!).

Honestly i just want a formation dataslate for assasins. No need for a new codex.
This Guy Has To Die formation:
2 squads of death cult assasins
2-3 Vindicare Assasins, Evissor Assasins, Culexus Assasin
Special rule-
Marked Target: At the beginning of the game each unit in this formation may pick a single model from your opponents army. They gain Prefferred enemy and hatred againgst their chosen model.
