Hi,
maybe I used the wrong term in the topic cause I dont know the name of the english BRB entry. Sry for that.
So here is my question:
In 6th you use the highest value in the unit if you had to make a check for S, T etc. I couldnt find that entry in my german BRB. In another Forum/thread somebody mentioned, that they have changed it to the majority of the unit instead of the highest value. I also cant find a proof for that.
Can somebody give me a reference or section in the brb where I can find a clear statement concerning this case?

In the shooting section and 'Roll to Wound' there is a bit for 'Multiple Toughness Values'. I don't have the page number because I use a digital conversion, but yeah.

You only use the highest characteristic value in 3 cases I know of, and as far as I can remember it was the same in 6th.
Leadership
Initiative (when Initiative breaking. I don't remember the proper name for this, but you use it when you figure out if you're going to sweeping advance or not)
Toughness (ONLY when it is tied between equal amounts. I.e five toughness 4 and five toughness 5, or two T3, two T4 and two T6)

If I sound like I'm being a condescending butthole, I'm not. Read my reply as neutrally as possible, please and thank you. |

Characteristic Tests can be found in the General Principles section of the rulebook, just after the bit about Apoc templates.

Ond - leadership is only when the unit is making a Ld test; when a model is taking it they use their OWN Ld. Makes priests slightly less reliable.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Yes i know but there is only one thing mentioned that concerns Units. It says if a unit have to take a single characteristics test for the whole unit, you take the highest value. In any other cases mentioned they are always refering to a "model". The toughness rule in the Shooting Phase applies only to to-wound-rolls, not to characteristic checks.
The reason why I am interested in this topic is, that the Dark Eldar Void Raven Bomber can take a Missile that Forces a W-check on every model hit by the template. If the model fails, it is removed without a save. It would be really funny to snipe out ICs in a unit of 1W models if they have to take the value represented by the majority. But after rereading the rues I cant find any rule that says so.
I ve come to the conclusion, that every model in a unit has to take its own stats for the check, cause the rules for characteristic checks are always referring to "a model" with the exception of a single test for the whole unit, where you take the highest value. Am I right?
