Hey guys starting a vostroyan regiment as my third army. This is the 2000 points I have planned to buy. Would love your thoughts!

Whoops... there doesn't seem to be anything here.

I would change some meltas for grenade launchers, And you will not see many of the men get to melta range without transports. Even the lowliest of fire Power will either have you on the ground or dead.

Even better, drop all the meltas for a second las cannon team and use Your inf platoons only for scoring.

Thanks for the advice guys! I am positive about the size of the army I'm collecting. I'm going to be running 4 las cannons in each blob instead of meltas.

As for the plasma leman russes, I'm running them because they seem fun and what not.

Grenade launchers are terrible, fact. Keep the meltas, they're better every time.

Executioners statistically out perform standard Russes, period. Executioners, even without sponsons, kill more marines than a single standard Russ.

Lose the heavy weapons teams, use the points to get power weapons for your sergeants and flamers for your PCS' and I suppose that negates the need for an Aegis. Get a priest and stick him with the squad that's taking the commissar and run around beating faces. Two vanquishers? Not sure if they work well together as I generally keep an Exterminator or Eradicator with bolter sponsons to keep infantry off of Pask.

Appreciate the feedback. I plan on running las cannon teams in the infantry squads and using those instead of the meltas for longer range anti tank. I like the adl for the go to ground 2+ cover and order my troops to get back into the fight. Ill use the guardsman in the blobs for ablative wounds in my las cannons.

As for anti infantry I got the 2 executioners, bàneblade, and if the enemy gets close to my tanks , I have the 80 guardsman for back up.

Do you think thematically this army will look great on the table top?

It's very Guard-esque, so I think it'll look great. Lots of infantry, tanks, and a big center piece to round it all out. I think your opponent will hate fighting you, heh.

Awesome, excited to get this rolling. Now to put together this damn baneblade. Just finished a stompa so I'm trying to find the motivation to put this thing together lol.

I've dine most of both tracks. At least the leman russes will seem easy in comparison when I finish this thing. One awesome thing about the vostroyans is the fact that you don't have to assemble the guys lol. The metal models do seem more challenging to paint though.

Any other thoughts?

Add priests to keep blobs going, add psykers for nasty ID attacks, krak grenades so jhonny infantryman can hurt almost anything and never leave home without your power axe sergeant.

Pask's LR squadron is an HQ choice, not a Heavy.

Drop the melta on your infantry squads. It sounds nice on paper but i don't really like them. If you shoot melta at a vehicle A: you might not hit, and B: rest of the squad is doing jack. I would rather dedicate the infantry to shooting other infantry and the vanquishers to anti-tank.

you have 3 HQ choices. Pask, Tank commander and command squad. Drop the tank command. Pask is enough.

Drop the melta sponsons on the vanquishers and add lascannons. Melta needs to be close to be effective and you want your tanks at the back of board.

With these taken out, you have about 150 more points. Use it to get 2 autocannon heavy weapon teams. They are great against light vehicles and infantry. They also work great with the ignore cover order

If you want some form of heavy weapons on your squad add either flamers or GL . They are cheap and help the anti infantry ability of your squad
