Well, I was doodling around this morning over breakfast, and worked on "Genestealers, and Malanthropes!"...

Maybe its the meds...but this looks like a winnable list. I figure two deathstars of Big Bugs will let the Broodlord's packs get into contact. If I get Master of Ambush I could infiltrate, Tyrano, a Gaunt screen, and the Malanthrope. Epic!...maybe not epic Win, but epic none the less.

Still ruminating on Malanthropes...

This is a very different list for me, no Warriors. And no Mawlocs. But I think it would do well vs most anybody. If I roll MoA, this thing should do very well. I plan of infiltrating one complete "Bugstar" of Big Bug, Hormie screen, and Malanthrope. That should put huge amounts of pressure on almost anyone. I am temped to find 20 points to add Hive Commander back in, just out of force of habit...

That should run 1825....right now I'm tempted to drop a Zoey, and add x5 Ripper Swarms (DS) for 75. I am also considering x4 DS Rippers with Spinefists (76 points)... I can just drop a Spinegaunt to get back to even...

This gets me back a Warrior Brood, they are not the "best", but I am very comfortable using them... Only one Malanthrope, but I get an extra Power of the Hive Mind, and two extra WCs ...If I x2 CAD, I add 2 extra Powers! and 4 extra WC.

Any ideas welcome.

Well this Am I was pondering Nid Zilla lists, this is something I don't really "do", and I don't own many figures for this build...but here is my take on a x2 CAD, "Psycho" list....

If I have added correctly, that is 1850. All of the Thropes are singled out...7 MC (2 FMC), 6 Synapse, 12WC (+1D)

This is not "my style" but I think I could win games with this, vs IG/AM, Tau, and most Space Marines I think I'd do very well, vs Eldar? (Dark, and Craftworld) not so sure...(Oh I also have a bunch of Ripper bases as well)

I would run list 3 or 4.

I have lost interest in zoanthropes as the only spells worth casting are needed upfield- a place where no zoay will go.
I'd lose them in all of the lists and focus on one more MC or a hive crone.

Well, different folks. Me I like the Zoeys, and I run them all over the place. I normally run them x2 for durability, but my "Psycho" concept exploits the fact they are ML2 per Brood, for buckets of WC's

I most often use a "Bug Star" or two of say...Hormie, x15, Dakkafexen, x2, Veno, Zoey... I tend to run that right into the foe, as fast as I can go. A Zoey hiding in a Ruin makes a very nice mid to backfield Synapse security blanket for me. But I also run Warrior Broods. So I react to Synapse hunting with joy, because I most always win, when that happens. Because I front load "too much Synapse" into my list. I may be losing units, but my swarm functions just as always. And now a fair portion of the foes fire is expended on Synapse, something I have Plenty of.

Another formation I really like is an "assault triangle" of three Broods of Gaunts (I like Hormies) in a triangle formation, with a Veno, and a Warrior Brood in the center. If I get a "pin" with the Strangle Cannon, the Hive will eat well.

Well, still doodling around with Malanthropes, and/or Nidzilla. This AM at breakfast I doodled this down...

That should run 1820...I am actually at a loss at what to spend the 30 points on. If I can't find anything, I'll toss Adrenals on the Dakkafexen. I am also in the unaccustomed place of thinking I have too many Troops. It might be I should drop a Brood, and fill the third Heavy slot.

Hmm...6 Synapse, 6 Broods who need it, 2 FMC, 5 MC, plus two Malanthropes, only 6 WC (+D6) 5 Objective secured.

Things I'd consider with the last list.

-The hormagants need the bodies more then the spinegaunts imo.

-Not a fan of 2 or more zoanthropes in a brood. YMMV but points can be used elsewhere easily.

-Dropping a zoan and warrior deathspitters gets you enough for two biovores.

Well Hormagaunts don't do much, so I tend to short them, it doesn't help that they are more expensive to boot. I use them almost exclusively as bubble wrap for my Big Bugs, and in that role they are surprisingly durable, because the Big Bug attracts most of the shooting. I like them because they're fast, so they seldom (so far never) delay the Big Bugs.

It is also nice if they do survive, because then I get to charge them into something.

I habitually run Zoey in Broods of x2, for durability. One Zoey is just too vulnerable to volume of fire, Two eats up so much fire, that it usually helps me, even if they die. This is very likely a "meta" thing. But where abouts I am, Synapse hunting is a "thing". So I like my Synapse, numerous, and durable.

Good thought on the Biovores, I was pondering dropping a Troops, and grabbing a Mawloc.

OK, I spent breakfast pondering "From the Darkness", and I think this will be my new "Fight anybody" list...

So...did I miss something big? I used no Formations on purpose, so that my "base" list can be used no matter what, all in all, I don't think I miss having a Formation though.
