Can Daemonettes actually hurt anything? They are only S3 so against space marines they are wounding on 6s which means that it's AP 2 but other than that can they actually do damage? Automatically Appended Next Post: And is there any psychic power that I could use to make them better?

Demonettes can hurt everything bar AV13/14. They are definitely the Demon troop of choice (though Nurglings came through in this edition now that they score). High WS, High Initiative, 2 Attacks base and great movement (they have fleet and run +3") easily make up for S3. Plus they're only 9pts each.
The only time you should be not taking Demonettes is if you are taking Seekers of Slaanesh instead.

Being str 3 they are actually wounding on 5s. That beings said, they are striking before most things, and for the points cost, they will murder equivalent points in terminators or marines. With rending and an invul save you can throw them at just about anything to tear through. Plus they are fast, with fleet and an extra 3" run per turn, they can get where you want them.

They're S3, yes, which means they wound Marines on 5s, and ANYTHING on 6s, regardless of the to wound score on the BRB table.
Couple that with their high initiative and solid number of attacks, as well as their speed and relatively low cost, and they're really very good.
Take a Herald with the locus that allows for all the rerolls, and the only thing in the game a unit of 20 on the charge can't kill in the first round is a Land Raider or AV13 Walker, as they can't hurt AV12 or higher, even with rending. S3 wounds Space marines on 5s and 6s, but 6s are rends. To answer your question, yes they can. Daemonettes can kill just about anything in the game short of an armor 13 walker or Land raider. They have a good WS, good initiative, good amount of attacks and rending. Terminators? Rend them to death. Wraithknights? rend it to death. They are fast moving and cheap, and best taken in large numbers going up field. They do not really need psychic support, but if you would like to then Endurance from Biomancy or Invisibility, or the Grimoire is great.
I don't really get how you think they don't kill anything "other than" a bunch of rending attacks, but that is their whole point. They can rend any non vehicle to death or use weight of attacks to power past saves, and can even kill the majority of vehicles.

Ok so they are still good and are there any good psykic powers that I can use with them. I have a flying daemon prince with mastery level 3 and I was wondering what I should roll him on Automatically Appended Next Post: How can they hurt vehicles? The highest to roll to wound on a vehicle would be a 6 but that's only a 9 so that wouldn't be able to hurt even AV 10 this doesn't seem right what am I missing, could someone explain this to me

But how does rending affect hurting the vehicle? Daemonettes don't have an AP value and it says not to use the AP 2 because of rending and they don't have any weapons apart from their claws which don't have a profile

I can't tell if you actual read rending, but against vehicles you get an extra d3 on rolls of 6 so can get up to 12 on armor pen

It may help to read the rending rule again, specifically the part where rolling a 6 to pen adds an additional d3... a full daemonette squad that charges a moving vehicle with rear armor ten inflicts 6.67 hull points on average, 4.44 against rear armor 11. Basically, Daemonettes, even in smaller numbers, can and will kill tanks.

Ooohh I thought it meant that you get D3 more hits for every roll of a 6, this clears it up thank you Automatically Appended Next Post: Ooohh I thought it meant that you get D3 more hits for every roll of a 6, this clears it up thank you Automatically Appended Next Post: Ok so say a Daemonette hits a rhino and them for armour penetration rolls a 6, then you roll a D3 and then add that result to the 6? Yes, this is what happens.
Last weekend I had 20 daemonettes take out a daemon prince over 5 turns (there were 2 daemonettes left at the end and he had some pretty bad rolls but still). They get so many attacks that they can threaten virtually everything.

Daemonettes are the most killy troops unit the Demons have. They are ridiculously good for their points cost, and require little support. However, if you do buff them with things like Invisibility or Grimoire, they become downright scary.

In the game I'm using them I'm going to have a mastery level 3 daemon prince with the lash of slaanesh or whatever it's called and he is going to be swooping so I was wondering what discipline I should roll him on. I was thinking about telepathy so he could rally troops that were falling back

Vs vehicle -> Strike at Str 3 + 6 for the dice roll + D3 for rending = between 10 and 12 total result.

For your daemon prince, take malefic daemonology so you can summon daemonettes.

I was thinking about that but for the game that's coming up I can't because I don't have any more Daemonette models Automatically Appended Next Post: Or any other daemon model

First off, please find something that is more dangerous at only 9 points a model. Daemonettes are just plain nasty.
Second, daemonettes were the only troop choice in the daemons codex that did not get nerfed in someway from their previous codex (most lost one toughness point). And, they dropped 5 points.
Third, do not worry about falling back. Reread daemonic instability. Daemonettes may blink out of existence, but they will never run away from a fight.

I would still roll on Telepathy. Both invisibility and Shrouded will be a huge benefit for a Daemons army, and the other powers are still good.

Chaos sorcerers can get sanctic and/or malefic, although they perils on any doubles.
Anyone with the Daemon USR can only cast malefic but only perils on double six.
all this stuff is in the BRB btw
