the fact that she is not a "Herald" seems brutal to me. Almost any other non-greater Daemon HQ is a Herald so you can take 4 in one HQ slot. Her stats seem pretty good, but I dont see her being worth it when Daemons HQs slot are so important
That being said, i have never actually play one in a list, so i could be wrong

I play alot of pure slaanesh daemons lists
as sasquatchalex said, she isnt a herald. If she would have been a herald I would say she would have been an auto-take for me.
as of now, I have tried to shoe-horn her in there but then I have to remove either all the heralds and their buff to my army or the greater daemon which gives me princes, she just cant make up for that... :(

I play mixed Slaanesh Noise Marines and Daemons.
Sadly, The Mask is not worth the slot she would take up.
For the HQ slot you would use, 4 Heralds are waaay more effective.
I wish GW would change this rule about her, because fluff-wise she is a cool character.
I have the model and have not even painted it.

What the others said plus she is not an independent character. So she has to hang out by herself and get killed quite easily.
Good fluff.
Horrible rules.

It's almost as if there's a typo in her entry list, where they forgot to put Independent Character in her rules (The Blue Scribes have a similar issue, though at least they are Jetbike casters and can zoom around in the backlines to avoid the enemy). I could live with her not being herald if she could at least have unit of Demonette bodyguards.
If you do want to use her then you're pretty much forced to deep strike her in close to the things the rest of your army is about to assault, use one of her dances on a key enemy unit, then run her behind LoS blocking cover and hope nothing goes after her on the enemy's next turn.
Otherwise just use her model as a regular Slaanesh Herald.

She can be a remedy if your opponent uses deathstars. The debuff can help to reduce the dmg output so that your dedicated cc units to not get smashed in turn 1 by a deathstar.
But she's hardly a choice to place in your generic list that won't encounter deathstars in every game or so.

Yep. I think this is exactly how to use her, though as I do not play daemons, it's all just theory. My buddy has a daemon army and the Masque model, though he's never used her with her new rules. I've often thought of borrowing his army to play her, but it just hasn't happened yet.
As for the slot she takes up and whatnot...with Combined Arms Detachments, it's not THAT big a deal. Just have her and 2 units of troops in her CAD and you're good to go.

Unfortunately, it is not a typo. It was the same in the previous codex. Additionally, her fluff is something along the lines of she pissed off Slaanesh and is an outcast. Which would explain why all the other daemonettes shun her and won't let her join in any reindeer games..... (or would it be ..... PAINdeer? Get it? Pain? Rein? )

Interestingly enough, I believe. .. and I could be wrong about this, but just because she isn't an IC doesnt mean other ICs cant join her. I'm not saying its the best thing ever, but if you really eant to use her, you can take 4 other heralds of slaanesh and give her a ghetto bodyguard. Roll up a few cursed earth and Grimore, and the unit becomes far more durable than it has any right to be.
Again, I'm not saying this is super competitive, but it at least can make her useful rather than a "oh thats cute.. DAKKADAKKA," Now your HQ is dead.

For some weird reason, a great number of named daemon characters are 'outcasts'. The masque, fateweaver, and scarbrand are all exiles, more or less, from their patrons.
Stacking her with herald bodyguards is an interesting angle, but thats pretty crazy expensive and fragile.
With a few rules changes, she could almost be the daemon equivalent of marbo, but alas, shes really poorly designed. Cheaper, 4++, FOC change (elite?), would all make her at least interesting to field.

I actually really like her, I think she is one of the ultimate units for trolling your opponents. I used her in CSM list with an allied daemon attachment (Masque, 20 Daemonettes & Soul Grinder), essentially she deep strikes down, uses the dance that is most effective than runs behind LOS blocking terrain.
Hamstringing deathstars to d3" a turn is hilarious, particularly as you easily keep the masque sufficently far away from them to repeat in the next turn.
The other one that's quite nice to to lower the WS of a unit, I was also running 10 noise marnines in a LR, and having them charging out hitting on 3's w/reroll (VotLW) and being hit back on 5's by any Meq equivalent makes them really effective.
I agree she is super fragile, but given she's 75pts and her amazing effects if you build to capatilize on them, she's well worth it.
