Who are the legion of the damned and what do they do? Do they have any special rules? What are their stats? Please answer, I really want to know.

Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?

What they are is unknown, some day they are Space Marines list in the warp, same say they are manifestations of the Emperor's will.
In game, they get a 3++ save as standard, accurate Deep Strike and Slow And Purposeful. They're great for deploying melta weapons into the enemy lines.

I would like to add that they are an Elites choice for SM.
They are also a standalone army with digital codex, Warlord table, own detachment and stuff.
They also have to start their game in reserves and must deep strike. This is why they can't be fielded as their own army. You start coming from reserves at T2 but you have already lost because there are no models on your table at the end of first turn.
Who made all this up? No-one knows.
