I have been playing small games against a growing marine force and have found that my orks can't line up against his marines. Because the tactical marines are so good, every unit of. Boyz that gets into combat (significantly whittled down) gets destroyed. a decently kitted out squad is around 100 points, so with 2 of those mandatory and a Warboss kitted out well it is around 300 points out of 500 already taken. What can I take to be able to deal with him? Any tips are appreciated.

30 boys @ 6pts =180 + nob 10 pts + boss pole + 10?pts
Pain boy 50 pts
Gretchin 35pts
Deff dred =100pts
Still have 100 points to spare

If you drop the dred and gretchin you can field another 30 boyz + painboy

Two tons of boyz and tankbustas or mek gunz and you should be able to game

What is good for maelstrom? How can orks get ones where you need several objectives at once?

Meks with tellyportas?

When you say you take boyz squads, are they shootas or sluggas?

12 shoota boyz in a trukk w/ a ram = 124 pts.

Maybe toss a nob or two in there and a bosspole. dont worry about other.

That should get you 3 trukks. 2 with boyz and nobz, and one trukk with a big mek w/ kff.

run in a Delta formation, two trukks up front, the one with the mek behind them but within 6". charge straight toward your enemy, firing off shootas as snapshots. call a WAAGH turn two, disembark, run charge.

Personally, I find Flash Gitz to be pretty decent marine killers if ya got the teef to field 'em. That and lotsa dakka from shoota boyz. If ya want to krump 'em up close proppa, good rule of thumb is that three ork boyz to one muhreen will guarantee yer winnin'.

10 gretchin + runtherder

Nob with bp + pk

Bikers and meganobz should be in combat by turn2. Kannons will always make their points back. Get a unit of grotz to screen the kannons if there is no cover for them. Otherwise send both units off to hide and score somewhere.

Your best bet is to get as many Rokkits as you can. Tankbustas all carry Rokkits which will pop through PA, which is the bane of Ork existence. Deff Koptas are cheap, effective, and can take a beating. My 3 Kopters were able to fend off 6 BA Marines that charged in foolishly. The Marines only managed to get off 1 wound when attacking, and none when shooting due to Jinking.

I killed 3 of the 6 in CC, then Hit & Run'd away. On my turn, O popped them off with TL Rokkits.

Of course, YMMV, but DeffKopters continued to pull their weight. They can be a little costly in lower point games, but theres a reason they were put in the AOBR. They are insanely good, especially with their point decrease.

I actually dont own the new dex so I am not sure how bad the Bwagon changes were. ( I think there was a small points hike but deffrollas are stock now?) That said at 500 points you could probably fit 1 warboss or mek 2 20x shoota boyz suqads in 2 wagons. Sounds pretty brutal for anyone to deal with who isn't catering.

Rollas aren't stock, and they did get a nerf in this edition :( They cost 110 points with no upgrades at all.

and deff rollas dont have that auto d6 str 10 hits anymore!!!

You need Mek gunz to support your footslogging boyz.

Kannonz, Lobbas, KMK are all great. If u're 100% sure u're gona play against marines, you can't go wront with a battery of KMK.

Numbers. Numbers and missiles.

A space marine player will struggle to get more than 20-30 bodies on the field (Assuming they take transports) at 500 points.

In Maelstrom, you can just use enough units (that are troops) to put the marines in combat and control the game. Marines will crumple in close combat to your orks. Just put enough bodies on the table that your opponent can't stop them before they reach combat.

Shootas, Lootas, and Gitz all help me deal with Marines.

Getting a few rockets in there is always good, Deff Kopters work wonders in lower games, as do buggies. TL Rokkits work horses at lower points values.

Stick the HQs in the 30man blob, now you got 30 boyz with WS5, FNP, and have da boss to boot! Lower points you probably dont need the MA on the warboss, but this will make him vulnerable to powerswords.
