I find it hard to believe that Jack is way down at #28. I figured that / variations was the most popular boys name ever. I wonder with Maisie and Aiden, whether the US prefer the actors names from Game of Thrones than the characters.

I've genuinely never met an Asher or a Finn. However, Charlotte surprises me.

Call me impressed by the inclusion of Harper and Atticus though.

A friend of mine had his kid prior to 2009, and named him Asher.... This friend was also a hopeless hipster D-bag, which is generally the first thought I get when I hear that someone named their kid Asher.

Yeah. There are some pretty soft boy names in there.

Like, "I want my kid to get beat up and made fun of" type names. It's crazy to me.

Then there's all the ridiculousness with the letter "Y".

Actually my wife is pregnant with our first right now, and Catelyn would be a nice sounding name for a girl that doesn't even scream Game of Thrones.

Maybe the only thing worse than a unique name is an ordinary name with a unique spelling. Especially if that unique spelling is just swapping out vowels with y.
