I'm kinda toying around with the idea of making one or two looted Leman Russ tanks and simply use them as battlewagons with Killkannons (and other stuff, like 'Ard case). I'm thinking that if I use the Blitz Brigade formation, I could as well tool one or two of them up or something like that.
Is it actually viable to do that tho?

That is 100% legit. I can't imagine any tournament even questioning it.

yep, perfectly normal. as both a killkannon wagon and a killkannon looted wagon have a transport of 12 now, making it a battlewagon for extra armour at extra cost holds no modelling problems I can see.

You could do a whole ork tank kompany! Junkas from the dread mob forgeworld list can be taking in the elite slot and have some decent weaponary to complement your bw russes. And battle fortresses can be taken as a lords of war choice!

Well I don't personally go to any Tournaments, but that's at least good to know!

Yeh. And hell, even smacking a Russ turret on a Razorback seems plausible to me imo.

The only problem is that those rules haven't updated yet. It might be just me, but I'd prefer to use those rules once they get updated

A Russ isn't an ideal match for BW dimensions, in particular its length, but that's unlikely to worry anyone outside of a tournament setting. Just always remember to tell opponents that it counts-as a BW and not a looted wagon.

That's a bad tactical decision but provides great modelling possibilities.

Well it's not really that different anyway.

Mind if you tell me why? Sure it's a bit expensive points-wise, but the real sink is that Killkannon, and I honestly think a large blast S7 marine-zoggin gun isn't half bad imho.

Well, for starters, the killkannon makes you snapfire everything else. Using a regular kannon or lobba for a main gun would probably work a lot better. But even then, you're looking at 5 BS2 24" S8 shots or 24 S5 shots plus an S5 blast for 155 points. Both can be gotten for less points from the fast attack slot.
It might be ok to use those to fill up a blitz brigade since they don't waste a slot, but a killkannon will pretty much completely kill their efficiency.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

Yeah, I can see what you mean. But still, I'll give it a shot in a few games, and see what happens.
