So here are these to discuss, you could probably find the images and discussion up in the news and rumor thread, but it is hard to keep track in there.

Yay, roll tables just like in the old 40k

For those struggling to read them, the top two are the ranged weapons, going down

I imagine that the levels still stack up somehow but then at MA5, having a -12 to hit is a bit silly.

Yeah I would bet they retain the rule that your CC includes all preceding levels as well.

CC in N3, if you have MA you can choose the level of you MA or any lower level and you get ONLY the bonus listed on that MA level you choose to use.

I love Boarding Shotguns already, primarily since they tend to have the most badass poses on the models, so I'm really excited about the +6 at 8" thing. That should really help with the low burst. It is also good to see that the HMG is finally being calmed down - it was a little too good for my taste.

It crossed my mind today that what I really want the MA L5 special to be... "Pick a lower level of MA and add the effects to MA L5 bonus."

But then it would pretty much always be MA 5 + 3. -9 to the enemies roll and +3 to your own practically guarantees a hit. It would be IKHOL+.

I'd say they already are giving the enemy a -6. Remember that iKhol L3 is only on, IIRC, one unit. And they're pretty bad in CC even with that, as it's more of a deterrent. CC oriented units with iKhol have so far not been given above L2 to my knowledge. MA L5 is on models built for CC - high PH, special CCW, other abilities to help them get there/perform there.

But ask yourself what better.

CC23 MA L5 vs CC16, MA guy min. roll 4 Crit on 17 vs other guy needing 10 or lower to hit.
or CC23 MA L3 vs CC16, MA guy min roll 7 Crit on 14 vs other guy needing 13 or lower to hit.

I know what I choose in that case.

And that will be the only situation for all MA5 models? Huh. They're really standardising stat lines.

Probably Mushashi will be better, but if her CC goes up Shinobu will get really killy (those are the two MA5 models out there, you can field both at JSA).

Then you pick 2 random numbers for the CC skill, the out come still would be MA3 is better choose them MA5.
