Why is there so much hate directed toward that guy?

Imagine for a moment Tom Kirby (Head of GW) decided that he was tired of all the nasty things people said about him on the internet, and announced on Twitter "I hate you all and your all terrorists no more Warhammer for anyone" then proceeded to destroy his own company and live the rest of his life spamming twitter and face book with things like "wargamers are racists" and "wargamers are terrorists."

That's pretty much Phil Fish.

I heard about that. I got Fez out of some Humble Indie Bundle. I have not tried it yet, but some friend of mine says it is an awesome game.

Cannot find a reason to care. I mean, after reading his tweets, I would feel more inclined to try to cheer him up than to take offense. Guy seem to have anger issue, and is not saying anything I could take seriously.

I guess I would rejoice that more sensible people would be put in charge, and hope they would actually release Sisters of Battle models. Or at the very least, I will get more potential opponent for playing Warmahordes. And I would feel sorry for the guy.

Someone who reacts that badly to a typical internet flaming? Ain't no saving him.

He's good for a laugh every now and then. That's about it.

I sense no compassion on your side. Poor guy seems to take this so bad!

I got lots of compassion. Just not for people that it's clearly wasted on

You know. Phil Fish, Karen Travis, Donald Trump. They all deserve what they get

No. I really cannot be offended by his comment. They are too ridiculous for me to believe that he truly believe in them, so they strike me as him venting his frustration. And I feel sorry for him being so frustrated.

Are those all U.S. people I do not know?

Phil Fish; Crazy game design who just couldn't accept that there are people who don't bend over and worship him for making a fun indie game.

Karen Travis; Author who killed Mara Jade Skywalker (who I will never forgive! )

Donald Trump; The greatest con man in modern America. Also, yes, how do you not know who Donald Trump is XD

Skywalker, so Star Wars, I guess.

Heard the name. Is he really relevant outside of the U.S.?

Not really, but he's really famous with tv shows and stuff XD I would have though he'd be a name even non-Americans would be aware of.

He's a textbook example in most economics classes in countries all around the world.

Yeah, I heard the name, I just could not relate it to some person.

A textbook example of what?
His article in the French wikipedia is painfully small:
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump
It is smaller than the article on Simo Häyhä, for instance. Which is hardly a celebrity.
I am not into economy though, so maybe that is the reason.

Yeah, my point was that he might be a big deal in the U.S.A., but he seems to be quite irrelevant outside of it. You are certainly going to point out that you are German, but you do not count because of reasons!

Donald Trump is a pretty cool guy. His opinions suck. But he's pretty cool.

I have a lot of sympathy for the guy, he's one of those types that shouldn't have gotten as much attention as he did and that can crush even the most sane person out there.

However, my only problem with him is that he essentially left his development team to rot when he left. That's a whole lot of work down the drain just because someone gets angry and leaves, and the livelihood of a number of people were affected by that.

Otherwise, I tend to ignore what most other entitled and ignorant gamer bro types say on the internet.

Phil is only bad in my mind not because he couldn't handle the sudden fame, but mainly because he abandoned the people who relied on him, without giving them something to fall back on.

Welcome to the gaming industry. It is not a fun place to be. It is an industry that chews people up and spits them out. It takes people who love games and gaming, and it breaks them down into bitter shells of human beings who never want to look at a PC or a console ever again.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Peregrine proposed a new expression to design those gamers: GJW. It stands for Game Justice Warrior.

It didn't take the world by storm, funnily enough

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.
