Stalwart Ultramarine Tactical Marine
|
Hi guys, my FLGS is hosting a 7th edition No Holds Barred league. Anything goes, no amendments to the 7th edition rulebook. So I need a 1500 point space marine army. I have every possible unit combination in the book, that is worth having, as well as some grey knights, inquisiton, and sisters. Don't bother asking me what I have, because I probably have it, just post your cheese!

Resolute Ultramarine Honor Guard

This is my 1500pts list:
ULTRAMARINES
HQ:
Chapter Master: Shield Eternal, Power Fist, Melta Bomb, Bike, Artificer Armor - 250
Tigurius - 165
Troops:
Bike Squad - 2x Melta, 5 Bikers - 125
Bike Squad - 2x Melta, 5 Bikers - 125
Bike Squad - 2x Melta, 5 Bikers - 125
Heavy Support:
Devastator Centurions - 4x Gravcannon + Amps, 4x Missile Launcher, Omniscope - 380
Thunderfire Cannon - 100
INQUISITION
Coteaz - 100
Ordo Xenos Inquisitor - Rad Grenade, Psykotrope Grenade, Psyker, Servo Skullx3, Power Armor, Liber Heresius, Ulumeanthi Plasma Syphon - 127
Total - 1497
Tigurius goes for Invisibility. If you get it off the bat, you can go for either Levitation for extra movement or Sanctuary in Daemonology. Coteaz + Inquisitor go for Divination or Sanctuary, depending on how Tigurius rolls. The Gravs lay waste to everyone with an armor save. Missile Launchers because you need some long range firepower turn one, since people will deploy as far as they can from the Gravs.
I've only lost 1 game so far with it at my LGS, and that was vs DEldar when I didn't hit Invisibility.

But really, grav- amp cents with re-roll to hit/ignores cover.
biker chapter masters
Think about taking a vindicare assassin with the new suppliment coming out. Don't even have to take inquisition allies. Take a techmarine to re-enforce some ruins for a 2+ cover save.

I think fliers are super anti-meta right now. So a list like this would be brutal, especially at 1500:
Coteaz
Henchmen+Mystic, Psyback
Henchmen+Mystic, Psyback (I don't know GK well enough to get particular here, but as many as you can fit)
GK Stormraven: TLMM, TLAC, Hurricane Bolters, Psybolt- 255
GK Stormraven: TLMM, TLAC, Hurricane Bolters, Psybolt- 255
GK Stormraven: TLMM, TLAC, Hurricane Bolters, Psybolt- 255
Stormwing Formation
Stormraven: TLLC, TLMM- 200
Stormtalon: Lascannon- 140
Stormtalon: Lascannon- 140
That's 6 fliers, 4 of which are tough as nails and you've got the tools to kill every type of unit.

The Shrike Storm Talons want Skyhammers always. They are better against AV10-12 (preferred target for talons) and cheaper.
The issue with the list though is it is basically an autolose to Eldar or any fast objective grabbing army. Plus you have 2 AV11 vehicles and a couple of T3 models to survive a turn meaning that if you go first against most Tau or play a DP list you lose before any of those flyers arrive.
What I'd take is either go unbound for table something like this:
Rune Priest: lvl2: combi-plasma
Rune Priest:
Drop Pod
Drop Pod
Drop Pod
Grav Cents: Omniscope
Grav Cents: Omniscope
Knight Errant
Knight Errant
Or go for VP grab:
Captain: bike, AA, SE, TH 190
Command: bikes, 4 gravguns, Apothecary 210
5 Bikes: 2 gravguns 135
5 Bikes: 2 gravguns 135
5 Bikes: 2 gravguns 135
5 Bikes: 2 gravguns 135
5 Bikes: 2 meltaguns 125
5 Bikes: 2 meltaguns 125
Libby: lvl2: bike 110
Scouts: LSS HF 100
Scouts: LSS HF 100
That's 10 ObSec units that are all very fast along with no less than 12 gravguns. This list is all about grabbing VPs early game then playing the avoidance game in the last few turns, doesn't really utilise UM tactics though. Though tactical doctrine is useful for firing the gravguns and assault can be useful if your Scouts are trying to clear an objective. DPs are probably best for using UM tactics but they tend to be quite rock/paper/scissors esque.
