Subject: Instant death - nobz question
|
 |
Lead-Footed Trukkboy Driver
|
Say a dreadnought (strength 10) attacks a unit of 5 nobz (toughness 4, 2 wounds each) and scores two wounds.
Each wound is sufficiently strong to instakill a nob.
So does this mean I lose two nobz? I would assume so...
Also, what are the implications for combat res?
I think I know the answers but I wanted to be sure.

You allocate wounds one at a time, and Instant Death would take place as soon as the model suffers an unsaved wound. So in your example, you would allocate the first wound, find it inflicts Instant Death, and remove the model. You still have another wound in the pool, so you allocate it to the next eligible model. Continue until all wounds have been allocated, or all eligible enemy models have been destroyed. Assault Phase > Fight Subphase > Allocate Wounds Also, what are the implications for combat res?
Assault Phase > Fight Subphase > Determine Assault Results - last paragraph spells it out

On a related note... if the wounds don't cause instant death (PK blown off) and all nobz are in base contact, does anything prevent me from spreading wounds around?

Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.

Yes, the bolded section of 'Closest Model', under the heading 'Allocate Wounds & Remove Casualties' in the rules for the Shooting phase.

BRB:
"only the Wounds actually suffered by enemy models count (including all of the Wounds lost by models that have suffered Instant Death)."
The unit suffered 4 wounds total, and takes -4 on their leadership.
