That's the whole point of tournaments. You don't go to a tournament with a list designed to be weak. You go with the strongest options available to you and your book. It's not the Swedish comp's fault. It's the very nature of competitive play.
So what does the swedish comp achieve, apart from altering the meta in a way the comp writer likes?
It achieves a playing field that's varied enough so that it remains interesting, yet competitive. If you like uncomped warhammer, that's fair. I do too with my dark elves 90% win rate.(From the last 10 games I played, the only one I lost was a dark elf mirror match.)

It creates a nice middle-ground between competitive ( ETC) and non-competitive meta and is more suitable for those looking to play vanilla WHFB with a few slight changes.

I rather like the Swedish comp. It is very well thought out. Simple, but brilliant.

ETC isn't warhammer though. It's a unique entity.

The Fantasy tournaments I attend are most definitely not just for min/max WAAC players, nor are many WHFB tournaments in general. Painting, sportsmanship and other 'soft' or 'hobby' factors tend to way pretty heavily in the grimdark past - this is not, after all, 40k Me, I just dream of a time when list design and intentional down-tuning receives more recognition. Take whatever you want, powergamers, but don't expect a cookie for taking the kneejerk obvious meta list for Army X. - Salvage, Cookie Baron
