Help me build the Red Skull!

For a bit of fun, I'm trying to build a Hydra-themed Imperial Guard army - led by the Red Skull himself.

(I'm basing him on the character in Captain America the First Avenger - rather than on the comics.)

Anyway, thanks to some modelling advice from this forum, I now have a finished model for the Red Skull (http://i448.photobucket.com/albums/qq207/Vipoid/DSC00132.jpg). What I'm looking for now is help/suggestions for equipping him (going mostly for flavour, but some function wouldn't go amiss

):

1) Do you think he should be a Company Commander or a Lord Commissar?

2) What would you suggest equipping him with?

Lord Commissar, so he can execute his own men (bonus points for yelling at them in a German accent first). Give him a Plasma Pistol (Hydra gun) and power fist (super strength).

Also, build Zola as a tech priest!

One other thing I was considering was the Death Mask of Ollanius. IWND and Fear both seem appropriate, and he does have a skull for a face.

The designs for the tanks could have similar blue-glowy plasma cannons.

Yeah, I've been doing a blue glow for the meltaguns and plasmaguns (and, of course, Red Skull's pistol).

Do you think lasguns and sniper rifles should have a blue glow effect as well?

hmmm.... the sniper rifles maybe... but if I remember the movie right, even after Hydra found the cube thingy (I forget its special name). their forces had a half and half of the blue guns and normal guns. Only at the end did practically every guy except the odd one out have the energy guns.

In this case it could be the blue-glowy special weapons (grenade launchers, plasma guns, melta guns, lascannons, etc) with the "normal" lasguns due to their lesser firepower or things with other munitions like say rocket launchers. modified laspistols with additional bulk and glowing bitz could work as bolt pistols or plasma pistols for officers

Ah, good point, I'd forgotten that.

That sounds like a good idea.

I was about to question the logic of giving a grenade launcher a glow, since it's a more physical weapon... then I remembered I'd already painted a glow effect on one.

Indeed.

I gave Red Skull a laspistol because it looked much closer to his pistol then the bolt- or plasma-pistol. Although, if I use him as a commissar lord, I was considering using it as the Emperor's Benediction - since it's a strong weapon, but also unique and without the risk of a plasma pistol.

One other thing - can anyone think of a fluffy reason for including a CCS?

i.e. a reason why Red Skull would allow someone else to be the warlord.

I think you should involve the Alpha Legion.

You get AL transfers with every CSM box so every non-AL player should swim in them.

There's AL transfers in the CSM box.

I think they would, the only area his gear is differnt from your load out is he's got a storm bolter.
