Has anyone done these in a 3d kind of a way? Not a flat token, but actually hand crafted the seeds? I guess the seed embryo is usually camouflaged, but tokens exist for them so they must show up sometimes. Cadmus seeds especially since those don't have camo, and spwan-embryo models with some kind of pod and snaky tendrils sound way cooler than just plain counters. Has anyone done this? Quickly searching google and Corvus Belli's 'designed for infinity' partners shows flat tokens but nothing in the 3d like I'm after...

I'm cool with starting from scratch, are there any images of either kind of seed or spawn embryos in paradiso or human sphere? I'd like to work with the fluff in mind if it exists, I can wait to get the books if they have what I need, but otherwise I guess I'll just do whatever looks cool.

Thanks for looking!

The CA guy in my group uses tyranid biovore spore mines. I think they work really well, and dont need much changed.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

See, this is why I ask you people questions, you either have or have seen awesome Ideas that I would miss out on otherwise. That's nifty! Especially for the spawn-embryo tokens, kind of reminds me of games like Final Fantasy Tactics, when you kill the bomb/fire elemental thingies they die down to a little flaming ball of pitch, sort of the same deal there. I bet I've got some other tyranid stuff I could use for the Cadmus pods, thanks for sharing

I wish someone did a dedicated seed embryo 3D token myself, but those secret weapon ones are what I use in the intermediary.

The Scret Weapon ones look like they might be more correct for size, even if the other ones have better detail (ie look less like greenstuff poked with a toothpick repeatedly).

Having a full set of thsoe would definitely make your army stand out.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Yeah I think I'm gonna seriously consider those. I may look intosscratch building and making a mold with my cheaply mold kit too. May have to do it for embryos too, raiding my bits box shows a distinct lack of spore mines..

For free alternatives: Acorns work best IMO, just greenstuff the "lips" and some tendrols holding the egg attached to the terrain. Pistacchio nut shells are another option.

Hah! That may do in a pinch I don't like to use things that degrade as a permanent solution, but perhaps you're on to something with that shape, could cast one once complete.

Saying "greenstuff the lips" sent my mind to an inappropriate place.

Hah.

Tentacles and lips in the same sentence... and then greenstuff... I think this is how the wet nurse came about. Shudder.

I'd completely pay for some "official" Seed/Spawn embryo models, though.

Yeah I probably would too. Gonna have to come up with something so I can ''finish'' my team.

Acorns are durable. Just grab them while they're fresh (if you're on the northern hemisphere that means right now), dremel out the damp center from the flat end and leave the shell to dry. Then give it a gloss coat before priming and they'll last you a decade.
