Hey guys, we recently did our first Army Swap batrep for our channel on Youtube, and liked the idea of swapping armies and seeing how each player handles it. So, we did a second one, where me and my girlfriend swap armies. So, I challenge myself to beat my "overpowered" necrons with her Nurgle Chaos Marines. I know its a long video, so if it's not your style, I apologize. But otherwise, let us know what you guys think. We're planning on doing some more of these in the near future, and would love to hear what you guys think.

Ugh, you let her run that list without offering any suggestions?
Geez, that's like challenging someone to a race, watching them tie their shoelaces together, and then sprinting off while they fall flat on their face. Yeah, you're going to win, but was it really fair?

She has a big issue with me giving suggestions. So I try not to, but after she picked her original list, I did offer some suggestions like, why have an overord on foot when you brought Lychguard, things like that. She doesn't like me helping her, so I let it be as best as I could.

What I would like to see happen would be to make an army list (you with your crons, Opponent with army) then trade armies and play each other! That would be a crazy game.
Especially if you plan ahead and both try to give the opponent the worst list possible

Why, that is a very good idea. We might have to end up doing that.

Decent vid, always cool to see an army swap.
Still fun to watch.

Quick tips with your army list; Daemon Prince of X has to roll at least 1 power off his god's list in the CSM codex. So no dice on 3x Biomancy.
Just like the Sorc.
Also, Veterans of the Long War on Obliterators only brings them to LD 9, not 10.
Tricky little things you could have missed on your brief read-through of the codex.

Also, Turn 2 Necrons, the Doomsday Ark (which you declared pivoted but didn't move) fired into your Terminators. You declared you rolled 2+ armour saves. Isn't that thing AP 1?

I actually checked that before the battle, the Daemon prince is a "Daemon of X", he doesn't have the "Mark of X". Only a model with a mark of a god has to take from the lore, "Daemons of X" do not. They just get the primaris of whichever lore for free. So thats why Tzeentch Daemons roll everything on Daemonology and still have the primaris of Tzeentch.

Also, it was the Monolith that shot, and it's only AP3 (Yeah, don't remind me....) So thats why I rolled my armor saves.

And you're right, I thought the Oblits would be at least LD9 base, but I guess not, that sucks.

Very enjoyable batrep. Thanks for sharing this.

It would be very fun to see some other "swap" reports with each of you designing the others army or perhaps designing several list for them to choose from.

I can totally understand not being able to give too much advise to the opponent. Some people just care more about doing it themselves than winning. It is a fairly common personality trait and it is much better to just play the game than trying to force your help upon someone unwilling.

Yeah the DP is Daemon of X, which still counts for that rule. p.70 of the CSM codex says "If the Psyker has a Mark of Chaos, or is a Daemon of a particular Chaos God, they must roll at least one, and may roll up to half, of their powers on the table that corresponds to their patron diety."
Daemons of X definitely do need to take a god-power. It sucks. Daemons from the Chaos Daemons codex don't; that's the difference.

Ooo gotcha sorry about the monolith thing, makes sense now.

No worries. That's why Oblits get so expensive so quick, lots of people insist on paying for VotLW for the LD bump.

All that aside if was a good report to watch! I was surprised when you threw the Terminators at the Scarabs, thinking about Entropic Strike.
