I got two boxes of Deadzone stuff. Unfortunately due to the mailman messing up, I was only able to retrieve one of them today. It had three bags of battle damage walls and stuff. Hopefully once I get the other box from the mail, I'll have all my stuff and can close out another KS this month.

Still nothing for me, don't expect to get it until October at this rate.
I will get the Asterian starter from my FLGS before I get it from the Kickstarter, they'll be getting it tomorrow.

Personally my opinion is that any Kickstarter company that ships to stores *before* its backers deserves no further support. I think it's disgusting practice that seems to be getting more common.
Rather annoyed to hear it happening to a game I'm just starting to "get into"

I've never understood particularly why it matters so much. I mean, honestly, it does not matter in the least bit in terms of reality. Who cares if my stuff comes later than retail? Ahh, I have to wait a few weeks for my toy soldiers. What does it matter, really? Plus, I got like 80% off retail or whatever. Let those suckers buy it at MSRP.

I guess it all depends on just how late it is.
If your mates buy the game (which you funded the company a year in advance to make) and are happily building and painting their toy soldiers while you're awaiting yours, I can imagine it is rather annoying. Surely any company should send out the stuff to its backers before it goes to standard retail. Particularly when those backers have spent the money a year in advance. I do understand in the grand scheme of painting miniatures, a few weeks is nothing, (I have my box set of the Mighty Ugezod's Death Commandos I bought in the mid 1980's still sitting on a shelf near me unpainted), but surely the backers deserve their stuff first (and correctly packaged and sorted).

Just a heads up, Gimamgoo, some stores backed the game on KS as well for exclusives and better deals (Mantic offered retailer pledge levels on this one), and they are actually backers too. If they backed, they have every right to be receiving their stuff at the same time (or earlier) as other backers. That's not an attack, I promise, just a heads up to give them the benefit of the doubt. Now, if they're sending stuff out to retailers who DIDN'T back the kickstarter, I'd completely understand it bothering you and some other people. But if the stores being discussed were backers, then they're 100% okay with doing this.

Perfectly acceptable. After all they're backers. :-)
I do see your point ofc and thanks for reminding me. I know that a lot of KS projects also do trade only pledge levels.

The last part of my Deadzone shipment has finally arrived. Six sets of Enforcers and two sets of Peacekeepers. I also got a mini KoW rulebook in the shipment. I am so through with Mantic.

I'd guess with the new edition of KoW brewing, they've got a whole glut of old rulebooks that were already of limited value (they gave them away free anyway) so they're clearing the warehouse by chucking one in every order at the moment.

That and the ridiculous amount of time between now and when the KS ended. Of course I'm used to stupid-long waits but these figures aren't in the same league as TGotG or KD.

Personally I'd say the lateness is more than made up for by my ordering 14 basic enforcers and receiving 25 as well as heavy weapon and sergeant upgrades. Oh and having models that look right and can be stuck together without wanting to kill oneself afterward.
Assembled the ones I initially need:

Lateness?
I'm still missing some parts from the first Dreadball KS order.
A year after the last missing parts form got sent, they eventually found my messages on the Dreadball KS pages.
I'll have to ask our Deadzone bloke how his order is getting along.

So, despite them asking due to stuff being sent out on time that people weren't happy with, they kept sending these back because they didn't want to disappoint us with sculpts they thought we'd dislike, and now they're getting bitched at for doing what the community asked for? Some people can't win. You wanna get rid of them, I'll do some trades for some metal Sternguard and Noise Marines I have floating around, if you'd like.

Let's be fair to the backers, though - with a group of 4300 backers, once you start to deviate from your initial stated "promise", then of course people are going to have different views and feel free to express them.

Yup. I put in first dibs. I only want 5 of the Peacekeepers though. You two can fight over the rest.

Doh! got home 12:45 after a morning hike to find a failed-to-deliver card for my final deadzone stuff. And the royal mail depot shuts at 12:30 on saturdays and is closed sundays. Must wait until monday evening to add more tiny plastic men to my painting queue now. Curse you, minor inconveniences, you thwart me again.
Better carry on painting mars attacks stuff I guess
